The federal government says there is no longer need for protest as it is already addressing the demands made by aggrieved Nigerians.

Addressing State House Correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Monday, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said, “many of the issues that those planning the protest are putting forward is being addressed. Government is putting efforts to make sure that food is made available.

“Rice has been taken to various centers across the country and it is being sold for N40,000. This is just the beginning and necessary first step. Other efforts are underway.

“There is so much investment that is going into the agricultural sector and we believe that as we move forward, the price of food will come down.”

The Minister said the President believes that government is answering the questions being asked by the youths, “the student loan is making sure that no youth that wants to go to school will be left out. By the time the CNG takes full course, the transportation issues will be resolved,” he said.

No more need for protest? That sounds promising. It's time for dialogue and collaboration instead of constant unrest. Let's give the FG a chance to implement their plans.

When you took over from Bihari 50kg Rice was a little over 30k. The builder of Lagos took it to 90k and now wants to sell it at 40k to Us.

FG has finally seen the light! Protests won't solve our problems, but constructive dialogue and collaboration will. Time to focus on real solutions and progress.

It is not the responsibility of a grossly non-caring, insensitive and irresponsible government to tell its disenchantmented citizens how enough it can expressed it frustration.

If the FG is saying there's no more need for protest, it means they are finally listening to the people. It's about time we see action instead of just noise.

Let’s hope they follow through with the promises made. Protests are a sign of discontent, and if they believe the issues are being addressed, then that’s a step in the right direction.

We need to give them a chance to prove that they can do better. The country deserves progress, not endless protests. Let's keep the pressure on them to deliver!

Imagine how shallow the government can be.

Amongst myriad of challenges occasioned by the subsidy removal, distribution of rice to various centers and to sell at 40k is what the government can boast of

Look at these clowns!

You think the people who are proposing to hit the stress were doing so because of 50kg bag of rice?

Rather than address the root cause of the uprising, these clowns went about sharing bags of rice that can not sustain 1 million households for 30 days.

So every month end, Nigerians would line up to collect rice...

I used to think Jagaban was smart. Honestly, the man really really fall my hands.

YES!

The protest is political!

Peter Obi is fueling the protest to score cheap political scores and also give room to miscreants and criminals to cause havoc on businesses.
