Hello house, please I need your advice. I am getting a car soon and I like the look of the Volkswagen Passat 2006. I want to know if this Is a good car and what are the likely problems I may face owning this car?
You can also suggest alternatives to me within the range of 2m to 2.5m. Thanks

Walk away.
Re: Passat 2006 FSI 2.0 by Ayodaygee(m): 7:48pm On Jul 21
Hmmm...about 3 people have said walk away.

It's for a reason.

And it's for that reason of "peace of mind" that folks here do Honda or Toyota. Dont try to be different...its not worth it.

Now why?

The Passat 2006 also called B6 came at a period Volkswagen (vw) decided to go electronic on many things.

The B6 has electronic parking brakes, electrical power steering and so many more components. All these electrical stuffs fail often and are an headache to replace in Naija.

More so, any vw expert knows vw do not do great auto transmissions. So forget having a reliable suto transmission in any Naija used version.

Another headache is the FSI engine. The Fuel Stratified Injection technology came with many flaws especially when it has clocked many miles.

Well, if you must do a b6 passat, go:

* manual transmission
* N/A engine - 3.6l v6 inmotion engine, 2.5l 5 cylinder engine
* Toks not Naija used.

All the best bro......

Volkswagen Passat is a nice car to have if u r into tech & security.
I HV one and am enjoying it more than Toyota.
Is Tru s full of sensors like.. brake pad sensor,sterling sensor,parking sensors, EPC & ETC..
When buying that Passat, b very careful not to buy the one with tempered wire ..
Some Volkswagen mechanic doesn't know what they r doing.
Make sure u HV vcds VAG obd2 scanner.
Am enjoying my very well . No trouble at all..

Good. Which of the Honda brands if I may ask?
Re: Passat 2006 FSI 2.0 by walecosby: 6:54pm On Jul 26
Civic is my preferred choice but it's looking out of my budget from my findings so maybe Accord

Hmmm....there is a car that no one looks at.

I drove one recently and was woowed.

Its a Honda Accord Euro CL7...same years with the Honda Accord EOD (2003-07).

The car is sturdy, strong and made to compete with European brands like the VW passat, MB C & E class BMW 3 & 5 series.

Only but is...you must make sure you get one gotten from Germany and not UK.

The UK ones are converted and have electrical issues.

I have seen the car a few times but never came across one for sale, I mean the naija use. Not driven it before but from the look alone I prefer it to the regular accord
