.........roll out directives

Kano State mobilisers for the nationwide planned protest against bad governance have revealed their identities and rolled out demands and directives for the August 1, 2024, mass action.

At least 13 civil society organisations under the aegis of the Northern Chapter of the Nigeria Patriotic Front Movement (NPFM), led by Anas Adamu.

At a press conference on Tuesday evening in Kano, the group issued a communiqué declaring its intention to hold the protest as planned.

In the communiqué, the organisers listed their demands to the Nigerian government, which include reducing the pump price of petrol to between N160 and N200, reducing inflation on food, housing and electricity, lowering interest rates, reducing the cost of governance and ending insecurity in the country.

Their demands aside, they declared their intention to stage the protest as planned and issued directives accordingly.

According to the directives in a communiqué, participants should not carry any form of weapon; they should neither attempt to harass anybody nor engage in any form of violence. They are also forbidden from looting people’s property.

“Our protest is peaceful and consistent with rights enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

“We call on the people of Kano State and Nigeria at large to come out in their numbers on the 1st of August and exercise their human rights to freely protest against bad governance at all levels of government in the country. And we call on foreign imperial actors to stay out of our domestic affairs.

“Let us ignore all paid agents profiting from the mass sufferings that are now trying to intimidate and persuade us from speaking out and protesting against unjust governance.

“If we do not protest now, how would the government take us seriously? It is time for us to stamp our authority as citizens so that those in power will not continue to take us for granted.

“This August 1 protest is just the first step. It will go on whether or not the powers that be like it,” the communiqué outlined.

The group insisted: “President Tinubu must listen to the voice of the people and change course now before it is too late.”

Why is Akpabio accusing election losers for the organized protest?

Why's everyone saying Peter Obi and Obidients are behind the protest?

Is the North not hungry?
Is the West having abundance of food ?
Is fuel sold cheaper for APC members only?

Is there anyone having life easy since fuel subsidy was removed?

Why's Alex claiming that there will be no protest in Abia state? Why's no one leading protest in Abia state?

Or are we going to only experience protest only in selected cities why other states that's subjecting their indigenes into poverty are bragging on media?

May God bless all the right thinking Nigerians and punish those supporting evils in the country.

Any planned effort that will mitigate the high level of hardship in this country is welcomed.

Wey those cowards mentioning Peter Obi upandan ,now you know the organizers but suddenly gone dumb.
So far the major organisers that have shown face are either headed by southwest indigenes or the north but you see them calling out Peter Obi or igbos as if Peter Obi is already their president.

This is long overdue, every state in Nigeria has a valid reason to protest, I'm surprised why insecurity isn't a major demand in this protest.

Also maybe we to glaringly add welfare of security forces to the list of demand maybe it will become more obvious to them they need to support the fight for a better country too.

Where is Reno omokri and bayou mumunuga

The north have consistently championed this protest, even calling the president select OTP, yet the cowards will never call them out but desperately antagonize PO

If Peter obi was the president, Nigeria would have gone aflame long ago

Tinubu, enjoy your karma, bastarddd criminal

I stand strong that any igbo that comes out to protest should be flogged back home. We started this clearly since even elections began. "Will you buy petrol cheaper in the North or the SW?" "will hunger kill us in the SE and leave the North?"

While dolts like yarimo and Co., were mentioning Peter obi about this protest.

Till now, the way the brain of an average BMC member/ die hard agbadorian works still fascinates me. It could be the key to understudying hive mind for man.

Ps. Who's seen since hunger started?

Because it is happening in Kano you won't call them obedient but if it is in the east you will open your mouth wahh
So far the major organisers that have shown face are from the southwest and north but cowards will not let obedients be

You and your cohorts always attack anything Igbo with reckless abandon. That's the reason why we are reciprocating the evil gestures to you.

Even a blind man can tell that the way you react to things that is related to the north is different from the way you react to that of SE. And for this reason, we will always be on your mentions to set the record straight.
