What probably happened was that they were mobilised to protest with a promise to give them bags of rice after the protest, but rice they did not see.
Hence the new protest against the people who organised the former protest against the initial planned protest
So their own case of betrayal against their kinsmen is even worse than that of Judas Iscariot because at least he got paid.

They claim they were fooled and coerced into carrying placards. I want to believe some of them have elementary education and can at least read at basic level. Some of them know what those placards meant, but they decided their stomachs were more important than any political statement.
