I was discussing with a friend earlier this evening about racism abroad and tribalism back home and he was like tribalism is worse than racism as racism is the discrimination faced from people of different skin colour as opposed to tribalism which is discrimination faced from people of the same skin colour and much more . What are your thoughts?

They are not different, tribalism is still caused by people of different ethnic groups that pretends to be one, while in actual sense they are not, example Nigeria

At least, a Hausa police man won't shoot an Igbo or Yoruba simply because they're not from the same tribe, whereas a racist policeman in the US would readily shoot a fellow American (black) just because he doesn't like black people.

Racism is pure hatred... Tribalism is also bad, but the former is on another level!

They are pretty much different sides of the exact same coin that is racial/ethnic discrimination.

Before traveling abroad you've already made up your mind to expect the unexpected because it's not your country. I can't go to another man's house and be in charge of his remote control.

When someone you share same country with thinks he/she is superior to you is more annoying.

Tribalism is worse.

It's like asking which is worse between "How a lion brutalized and killed a man, or his brother that threw him into the lion's den.

The lion killing may be brutal, but only possible because his brother threw him into the lions den.

Before I would say racism, since I judge things eternally, but now, I will say tribalism, because external forces can only win when the internal is weak and not in unison.

For example, the whole Nigeria might be against Tinubu, but his internal security team will make sure the mass aggression never affects him.

It's the same with racism. You will be safe when your brother loves you (not tribalistic), ally together with you, and fight off external forces.

Racism in most cases only activates when tribalism exist. From the black men that sold their country men to slavery, or politicians being evil that citizens go abroad to hustle and face racism.

If tribalism disappear from nigeria today, and we treat each other nice and develop our country, racism against Nigerians globally will reduce.

So yes, tribalism is evil than racism. Tribalism is like when Judas sold off Jesus for crucifixion, and the external enemy could only win because of the internal demon.

I dont know which is worse but i've read enough about humans and animals to know that both are just territorial instincts lased with biological sentiments to push for an agenda that caters for only one group/kind

BBC page is even worse, especially between the Scots and Englishmen

Its a fundamental trait that cant be erased in humans and we all have abit of it in us, no matter how much we try to pretend
