Mankind2024:It is unfortunate what is happening. It is avoidable by just the government leader to just pretend to talk to the youths directly even if he doesn't mean it.The show of force can not stop it.The whole population of nigeria army/police is not up to 2million I know.In as much as I wanted peaceful protest but inside us we know it is not possible because a hungry man can not act peaceful in the mix of plenty plus the large number of uneducated neighbours up north. Then wike is being irrational. He doesn't understand the mix of people living in Abuja. All Nigerians are represented in that city. What will it cost the president to talk to Nigerians directly at this time and make promises. And initiate some cushioning polices immediately. Do you know the government could have turned this protest to a big carnival all over the country instead of spending billions in trying to surpress the voices of the governed If I was wike I will set different venues/stages in abj.Invite artist, provide food/drinks,stand by ambulance. Then announce earlier before the protest started to protesters that I will be joining them to collect thr demand and forward to the president. If possible declare work free days during the duration. Make the whole thing a big carnival....my opinion 11 Likes |

Streetinvestor2: With due respect, most of the instigators of the protests are not interested in peaceful protests. What most of them want is civil unrest, anachy and much more. 2 Likes |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 11:58am On Aug 02 |
Laso09:with due respect that is your opinion. No one is instigating it.It is hunger induced unless you don't believe thr is truly hunger in the land because you and yours are seeing food to eat.The level of hunger now in nigeria is unimaginable even myself know what it cost me now to feed my family. It is equally evident here now as how people now view stock market as a place for short time earnings to meet needs..Do you know my friends in government work who called me last term to help with school fees for thr children. The number of well looking nigerias who approach you daily to assist with money to buy food.Oga the hunger is real from people I least expect them calling for money to buy food.Look at the business within your area that was doing well and how it is looking now. IT is not everything that is politics 9 Likes |

chimex38:On a serious note what will it cost the government to provide food or snacks to show solidarity. How much is he planning to use in building back the unwarranted knocked down legislative chamber. Do you know the quantity of food 500million can prepare even at this time given directly to the right person |

A big salute to the ogas and madams in the house giving very valuable information here. I joined the market February this year with the mnidset of short term bu tI have been learning a lot and no more thinking like that again. Can any of the ogas kindly to throw more light on the direction Caverton, Chams and Univinsure are heading, to make a good investment decision. The three are currently part of my portfolio but I am not sure whether to buy, hold or sell for others. Thank you |

Okomuoil is still a buy. To target 425 for a sharp 30% gain. My calculated price range is 289 to 563, based on 22 dividend (14 + 8, I think) My palliative to you reader . I told a girl, "Look, if you seriously need that 25k for your cream, just do as I say. Take this 20 and invest it; it's all I have". Did I try? 7 Likes |

BabsO2: Exactly my thoughts. But why did the banks not report the revaluation in their balance sheet and leave it out from their comprehensive income. The banks might have brought this upon themselves |

If this government says part of reason for this hyper inflation is because of excessive ways and means. Then why now move it ceiling from 5% to 10%. |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Laso09: 12:37pm On Aug 02 |
Streetinvestor2: I understand there is hunger in the land, but I think the protesters should also understand that they cannot force everyone to join the protests.. Blocking roads and preventing others from doing there legitimate business is not within their fundamental right. 1 Like 1 Share |

dave07:Universal released very good result but disappointed in the part of dividend.... Investors were expecting dividend payment this year based on the promise from the CEO but eventually, non was declared. While this shouldn't be a yardstick to judge the stock, it doesn't mean it can't deliver, still one of the undervalue stocks (similar thing sighted in few other stocks), when is the question now.....but if you see a moving train, alight and join. ** Purely my opinion. Don't come and blame me if you see it moving again.... I just gave a simple advice** 2 Likes |

Streetinvestor2:How does this protest reduce hunger levels? Given yesterday's chaos, isn't it likely to exacerbate the very problem it aims to address? |
