Operatives of the Kano Police command have launched a house-to-house search in a bid to recover some of the items stolen during #EndBadGovernance protest in Kano.

Daily Trust had reported how the protest, which started on a peaceful note, was hijacked by suspected hoodlums, who embarked on looting spree.

They raided stores, houses, government establishments, such as the yet to be commissioned office of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), where the carted away furniture, electronic items, among others.

The mob also vandalised street light and other items used to decorate public places.

However, the police, which swung into action and arrested over 400 suspects, recovered some of the items.

Sa’adatu Baba Ahmad, a social media user, had posted updates on how policemen stormed Yakasai and Durumin Zungura areas in Kano Municipal to recover the items.

She wrote, “Since 10:30am, looted items are being recovered from the houses of people who stole properties of the government and innocent people in the name of protest. Up till now, they are there invading the houses.”

At a briefing earlier on Friday, the Kano Police Command had reiterated its commitment to ensure that perpetrators of the mayhem which broke out during the protest are brought to book.

Most Nigerians are terrible humans

This shitty attitude being displayed by the protesters is the reason why I don't take anyone who complains about corruption seriously.

A lil extreme freedom and watch them bring out a fully-fledged animalistic traits

Nice one by the Police. They should not only recover, they should prosecute everyone living in the premises where the stolen properties were criminally concealed.

May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!

OP, how does one go about verifying the claims made since I have yet to see any other source for this except this particular news media. Given that earlier today, a police commissioner or official was caught disseminating pictures from previous years, we must make certain all claims made are related to this present protest. undecided

Thank you for this. This is what I always exclaim. An average Nigerian is only an opportunity away from corruption. We need re-orientation first before any so-called reforms.

2012 protest was peaceful because, the people were not hungry.
U can never see a peaceful hungry protest.
Tinubu cause all these problems facing Nigeria right now.
He brings in buhari and he's continuing from where buhari stopped.

The consequence of having millions of Almajiri boys on the streets thinking its the responsibility of individual and government to care for them rather than the parents that gave birth to them. It was foretold that if the birth rate is not controlled in the North, particularly those that cannot cater for their child/ward, it will one day consume the entire North
