The other alarming thing is that high sulfuric content is hazardous to health, the fumes from the exhaust is carcinogenic

In America it is also against the law to fuel a car with highly sulphuric fuel

Excess sulfur will plug the particulate trap which may cause a back pressure and possibly damage the engine. Fueling a 2007 and newer model year engine with high sulfur fuel will void the engine warranty and is against federal law

This company is just getting started and will need local support to expand, the appropriate authorities should establish the requirements or standards that this refinery and all others around the nation must fulfill.

This back and forth is bad for the business and our country too, because it will discourage other potential investors.

I know it that this useless online pseudo journalism will depend on anonymous nonentity as the source. If it’s a genuine source, why not proper citation. Any dick Harry and dog can be the anonymous source. The source is not credible and not worth the paper that it was written on.

Why were there no true copies of sample results from Dangote's Laboratory and Quality Control departments? The report is a hit job.

Have you worked in the Laboratory or quality control department of any government-owned establishment? They're quacks.

Again, I repeat the statement: I don't believe you can read.
You can't be a criminal and be the one to try your case. The Dangote refinery have no, and absolutely no powers to test their fuel for certification. They can only do so for their own in house quality control.

If you could read, you would have seen this:

"In fact, on July 22, two days after the lawmakers’ visit, Dangote Refinery delivered a shipment of diesel fuel containing 950 ppm of sulphur to AA Rano’s depot in Ijegun, Lagos. The certificate of quality, dated July 21 was authorised by an independent laboratory Intertek, in line with NMDPRA regulation".

Intertek is an INDEPENDENT chemical analysis laboratory. But you refused to read.

And on the issue of government "Laboratory" as you said, It is obvious you know no shit about Engineering. If not you would understand that machines don't lie. They may be inacurate or unprecise, but if there is any human error, then it was deliberate and a direct hoax of alteration.

No one will like to do that in this situation.

Why are these people hell bent on ensuring that this Dangote refinery doesn't work? The same people that have collected billions of dollars to fix government owned refineries and they are still not working. The same people who import substandard fuel into Nigeria. These people are demons who are determined to destroy Nigeria because of selfish interests.

I really don't know your grudge with what I said, it's not like am against Dangote for investing in oil production, am just saying he is not innocent in all this drama unfolding

My point is that we need to give Dangote some slack. GEJ gave a lot of companies license to build oil refinery in Nigeria. Most of them did not or intend to build any, they just want to continue to import.

And on the point that he is not innocent, no business man with the type of investment that Dangote has will not lobby government for favourable operating conditions. This is justified and needed in Nigeria’s peculiar situation.

My in-law was buying fuel from one of the listed stations cos it was a little cheaper ,his engine has developed fault at as at that same period ,aaaah dangote na you do this one ,tinubu na you motivate am,Peter obi na you master mind am ,let’s not blames igbos today

Great, if the fuel is having high sulfur content, it can be worked on. Afterall the plant is just pre-commissioned or commissioned, whichever one. The engineers know what to do and the government should support our indigenous one of a kind refinery to step up her game.

Virtually all the companies in Nigeria are doing it. Once they got that established names, they keep producing sub-standard products at initial price of quality products.

So unfortunate that the system is so corrupt that they usually get away with it

That’s one side of the coin . Over to you Dangote. Why would the owner of the 2nd biggest refinery in Africa be producing content with high Sulphur and think he can get away with it ? I’ll wait for him to show his own documents

I wish dangers can just get foreign markets to sell his fuel to. Let Nigerian NNPCL just continue to import fuel for Nigerians. This country citizens are the funniest set of humans on earth. How can you support NNPCL that has spent billions of dollars on turn around maintenance on refineries that has failed to refined a single drop of crude for years? We keep talking about dangote monopoly but that discussion is not supposed to even come up if our 4 refineries were working in the first place.

This reminds me of the time i worked in a noddles factory, the industries wanted to penetrate UK so the authority asked them to bring noodles sample. This company produced high quality, rich noddles that times 3 the quality they sell to us here in Nigeria. UK authority still turned it down says it's of low quality. We eat and do to much rubbish in Africa here

Your point is not different from what I said, I think the problem here is that the initial agreement by both parties have be reneged. Maybe from the new government in power or oil cabals

This writer is part of the problems of Nigeria. Why didn't he also test the sulphur content of the diesel imported by NNPC, so that he can give us a balanced report. Saying it openly is not in the best interest of Nigerian economy. As regulators, the NNPC should have find a way to assist Dangote solve the sulphur problem. NNPC is a regulator and a competitor at the same time.
