Re: The NBA Begins by kendrick93(m): 1:26pm On Aug 03 |
greypencils:Yeah it's shocking to me at times how most of this NBA super stars are mediocre at the midrange. Curry, even Antman though he can get to the rim and dunk unlike Curry who is half the player without the three. Which is why I rate players like SGA, Luka, Kyrie, KD...They can score from anywhere 1 Like |

kendrick93:Thank God you're not GM. You would have run your teams to the ground making trades every season your team does not win the title. Inconsistent Murray at his ceiling won you two games against a formidable opponent in the first round. Instead of you to evaluate the full roster and acknowledge their full weaknesses you are scapegoating Murray. Their critical Game 7 at home that they lost he scored 35 out of 90 ask what the other players scored abi they're not collecting salary? Where have you seen bench of a home team score 5pts in a Game 7 2 Likes 1 Share |
Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 9:52pm On Aug 03 |
kendrick93:Curry na my guy but person gats tell the truth. Without those screens, he can't do much damage unlike my guy KD, Kobe or Lebron who will create separation using a fadeaway. Here at the Olympics, there is no servant to be giving screens like Draymond would. |
Re: The NBA Begins by kendrick93(m): 10:25pm On Aug 03 |
A40:Sometimes you have to remove sentiments in order to improve. A good GM should know that. You strike when you see a potential move that can improve you. Murray yes was great and still can be clutch at times, so he has a good trade value and I'm sure there are some gullible suckers in the NBA who would want him. The thing is the Nuggets have to come to accept that Murray might not get better than this and might even get worse as the injuries keeps piling up. You're also right that the Nuggets needs to improve on their roster before looking at Murray. Me I'm not a GM but as an outsider I see Canada aren't even picking Jamal in their starting five, that's a red flag bruh 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: The NBA Begins by kendrick93(m): 10:31pm On Aug 03 |
A40:Who knows if Dennis has this level of play in him in the NBA if he's made the first option/primary ball handler. Look at Jalen Brunson, went from an average NBA player at Mavericks to a top 6 MVP NBA Star at the Knicks because he became the first option. Luck and opportunities can play a part too not just talent |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 12:54am On Aug 04 |
kendrick93:I'm sure this is what you were probably saying last two seasons when Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum kept failing either in the finals and conference finals You cannot win every year. That's the bitter truth. We've had a different champion since 2018. The Nuggets make it to the Finals most likely if someone outside Jokic and Murray scored 10 points in Game 7. Meanwhile you could argue the Nuggets don't get past the Lakers without Murray I'm sorry but quitting on a 27 year old makes zero sense. So long as Murray doesn't get overpaid the Nuggets will be fine I've told you judging NBA players on FIBA ball is pointless. It's a different sport almost |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 1:05am On Aug 04 |
kendrick93:Lol. You didn't see Schroeder with the Hawks? Wait. No vex oh. Are you a newbie? He's had plenty of chances to be a first option. Schroeder had a nice little run. Unless you're Steph or Zeke your best player being 6ft 3 and under is hardly a recipe for lasting success. 1 Like |
Re: The NBA Begins by Skrrrrrrr: 3:11am On Aug 04 |
Lol. Unnecessary analysis. The fact that most of the guys scoring in the Olympics cannot do much on their own is all you need to know. You are rating players based off how they play in a Team of Hall of famers. |
Re: The NBA Begins by etidy: 4:06am On Aug 04 |
Skrrrrrrr: as in, so much unnecessary analysis. Ricky rubio used to kill it for Spain at Olympics and Fiba, Bam literally led the team in scoring against South sudan. Does that mean they have a bigger offensive bag than Steph or Dame. Even in that last game against puerto rico, Steph had a joint highest plus minus of +18 despite scoring single digits. His game is clearly a bit off, which can happen for a few games, and he doesn't have the luxury of shooting himself out of his slump due to limited amount of shoots he will get in a shortened game time. In addition, he's clearly being asked to be a decoy and to stretch the floor for others to eat. We are not going to question the bag of a then 35 player who as a primary offensive option nuked the best defensive team (celitics) who had the reigning DPOY in a NBA Final because he's shitty in a few games. Same Celtic team in that nba run locked up "mr instant offense " Kevin durant. |

kendrick93: Nobody knew jalen would ascend to this level, but there were signs, he had it in him. He was good during his last season at Dallas. He also averaged something like 30 points in the playoffs when Luke was out Injured . 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: The NBA Begins by Skrrrrrrr: 6:18am On Aug 04 |
etidy: Lol. Same Durant that has been swept twice in the playoffs with his offensive partner Devin Booker, who by the way is also scoring at a much higher clip than steph right now... 2 Likes |
Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 7:21am On Aug 04 |
etidy:You are still reiterating the same things being said. Curry needs a system (Draymond a key part) to be built around him to function. He needs to be the primary ball handler and shoot consistently to get into rhythm. On the contrary KD always seems prepared with his midrange to kill you irrespective of whatever team he finds himself. You shouldn't diss KD for his playoff loss against Celtics. Who were his teammates in Brooklyn? Joe Harris, Nic Claxton, Royce'ONeale, Give Curry this same three people and let's watch him win a ring. 1 Like |
Re: The NBA Begins by etidy: 7:34am On Aug 04 |
greypencils: Hmm actually KD had Bruce brown who averaged double digits, kyrie irving, goran dragic and set curry. And hey lets not pretend like we didn't just see KD swept with devin Booker and Bradley beal. |
Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 7:46am On Aug 04 |
etidy:I see we are back to the Durant vs Curry debate. Ok, I give. Curry is the one with more rings. KD needed Curry to win rings not the other way round. Accepted. It should also be accepted that Curry is a persona non grata as far as the Olympics is concerned. One appearance and an unimpressive one at that against KD's four appearances. Capisce! |

etidy:Yes but he needed a platform to showcase he can be a leading man- opportunity. And he grabbed it with both hands. The NBA is rigged, they chose their stars and also bring about rules which elevates these so called stars stats. 1 Like |
Re: The NBA Begins by kendrick93(m): 4:14pm On Aug 04 |
A40:Don't underestimate how much it influences a player stats when an entire team are dedicated to setting screens for you. With rules meant to inflate offensive stats. |

Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 12:05am On Aug 05 |
greypencils: The Olympic team was never the issue, whether they win it or not. That is a team that has the right to call themselves world champions because they have actually beaten teams from different parts of the world. It's a US based club calling themselves world champions that's the issue. Calling themselves world champions by virtue of a perceived notion that they can beat any team in the world without actually beating any team in the WORLD. If the Celtics or the Lakers play in a tournament against the likes of Real Madrid, Anadolu Efes, Flamengo and the rest, and win the tournament, only then can they have the right to call themselves world champions. It's like somebody declaring himself president without an election Even if you're the overwhelming favourite to win the election when it's held. But you ain't the president yet |
