President Tinubu’s self-serving speech--which basically sang his own praises, said he'd heard the people's anguished cries but won't do anything about the cries and then threatened that the people shouldn't cry for much longer or they'd be crushed-- signposts the making of an unfeeling tyrant.

If the people close to him don't stop him and the masses of the people let him get away with it, he'll transmogrify into a terrifyingly ruthless monster that may end Nigeria as we know it.

A famous Arabic proverb goes: "They asked the Pharoah, 'What made you a tyrant?' He said, 'No one stopped me.'"

The proverb tells us about the psychology of power that I've written about in past columns. Subordinates flatter people in power, copy their ways, and shield them from the harsh truth about them. This sycophantic drooling by subordinates makes leaders lose touch with reality.

The truth Tinubu must know is that the current hardship in Nigeria is not survivable. This is not an issue of political partisanship.

There's no alternative to restoring petrol and electricity subsidies. Energy security is national security.

He should give another speech to restore the subsidies whose removal created the conditions that power the protests. Simple.

Farooq is just projecting his fears. Tinubu is a leader with a vision, and his tough love approach is necessary for real change. People need to adapt, not whine. Let’s trust the process and support our president in making the hard decisions for a better Nigeria.

I'm proud pbat didn't make the mistake Ruto made: u can't please the 'pleaseless'.
The moment you are acceding to one bogus demand thinking that they'll be more reasonable, they will shift the goal post and add more bogus ones.

Imagine, they even demanded for the unconditional release of terrorists.
Laslas they will tell him to resign

This man's frustration is somehow to me. Like most of PBAT'S deluded supporters who thought wishes were horses. We told them 'antecedents' matter, they chose propaganda instead. Tinubu is who he has always been (a kleptomanianc and authoritarian democrat). People are only just seeing him for who he is today. Unfortunately, the ship has sailed for the next 3 years.

Tinubu doesn't have the grace to understand the principle of good leadership.

Na wah! Farooq don enter another realm of imagination again.

Tyrant ke? I no fit understand how dem dey see Tinubu like that. Meanwhile, Peter Obi dey run around like say him no get direction, always trying to chase shadows.

Make we no forget say na Tinubu dey carry Nigeria forward, while some people just dey play politics of bitterness.

Farooq should better focus on real issues instead of this baseless accusation.

Farooq Kperogi's perspective is quite extreme. Tinubu is simply navigating a complex political landscape. Every leader faces criticism, but we must recognize the efforts being made to stabilize Nigeria. Let’s give him a chance to implement his vision for the country.

Has anyone bothered to ask OP for a link before roasting Kperogi?

I checked in Google and only direct hit is this thread we are discussing. Nothing anywhere else. Unusual for any Kperogi article.

Abeg, where is the link OP?

Tinubu is a visionary leader, not a tyrant. Critics will always have something to say, but the progress he’s making speaks for itself. Let’s focus on the development and unity he’s bringing to the nation instead of spreading negativity. Change takes time, and we are on the right path!

The protest has PDP written all over it. Though APC fears LP more because they know why they gave them third yet are more concerned about the third guys than the second guy. Kperogi, to me, is a PDP guy.
