"Fuel subsidy has to go! It is one of the first thing that has to go. N3.6 trillion naira by June of a year, making it more than N7 trillion every year, it is one thing I will remove immediately I assume office," Labour Parry's presidential candidate in last year's elections, Peter Obi, answering a question in a topmost presidential debate shortly before the elections.

His answer was in response to what he would do within his first 100 days in office.

Interestingly, Obi is now a leading voice protesting with Nigerian youth on #EndBsadGovrrnanceinNigetia, against removal of fuel subsidy he vociferously said he would remove in the days following his possible victory.
He is also urging protesters on my saying the fuel subsidy removal is regrettable and faulty policy decision by President Tinubu for it only caused untold suffering in the land?.

Sheer double -speak.

Politics is indeed a dir..ty game!.

Tinubu removed subsidy and sharing the money amongst his cronies.
Ordinarily removal of fuel subsidy and corruption fight should make the difference.

As a normal human being your question should be where is the money saved from removal of f subsidy .make una leave Obi alone and start receiving sense

We all know.

I will repeat again for those who hate the truth.

Sowore vowed that he will not remove subsidy, but only 14,000 Nigerians voted for him.

Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi, vowed to remove subsidy, with Obi going a step further to insist he will remove it on the 1st day, despite that the outgoing Buhari regime had budgeted for subsidy till end of June 2023.

But 22million Nigerians voted for Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi.

Tinubu won the mandate of the people as Obi mistakenly confirmed to the pain of his delusional supporters, despite aslo seeking the same mandate.

Yet the people who gave their mandate to Tinubu do not want him to fulfill his promise of subsidy removal.

Dose it mean 22million Nigerians are stupid, and only 14,000 have sense?

Elections have consequences.

@OP, Why are you not telling us what Obi said he would do with the proceeds of Fuel subsidy removal?
Did Peter Obi also tell you that he would use the proceeds of the Fuel Subisdy removal to "settle" his cronies?
So, Tinubu copied Peter Obi's idea but did not know how to manage the impact.
What has Tinubu been using the Trillions saved from Fuel subsidy removal for? Imagine saving $500 per litre multiplied by 93 million liters consumed per day. That is N46.5 Billion a day for the past 14 months (420 days)

Did Peter Obi also ask Tinubu to go and devalue Naira stupidly?
Did Peter Obi tell Tinubu to "blow" N15T on a highway to nowhere?
Did Peter Obi promise to renovate a VP house with Trillions, "buy" NASS with Trillions in the form of SUVs, and acquire Billion $ aircraft, did Obi suggest that the government should spend Billions on a "personal spiritual journey" called Hajj?

Abeg face your failed leader with a bad government and leave Peter Obi out of your frustrated life and government!

Who did you vote for?

Did you vote for Tinubu, Atiku, or Obi?

Did you know the meaning of subsidy removal before you cast your vote for any of them?

Will you make the same mistake of voting for any of the candidates who insist on subsidy removal, knowing fully well that you are part of the suffering masses?

Have you finally learnt the meaning of "Elections have consequences"?

Will you vote for Sowore in 2027, or you want Atiku or Obi to replace Tinubu so you can come out again to protest against their own subsidy removal as well?

This is just another empty promise from a man who thrives on deception. Removing fuel subsidy won't solve the underlying issues plaguing Nigeria; it's merely a distraction from his lack of a concrete plan.

Does he think the masses will forget his record of failure in Anambra? The same Obi who couldn't manage his own state wants to manage a nation? It's laughable. He should focus on fixing his own backyard before making lofty declarations that will only lead to more suffering for the average Nigerian.

So your emilokan master is running his government on PETER OBI template?. Which means he had no plans of his own, whatever PETER OBI said he is doing now unfortunately he is a very poor student of PETER OBI economics.

Please tell emilokan to go to his teacher @ Peter Obi to learn governance part 2.

Tell him that copy and paste is dangerous, he should be properly schooled before assuming leadership.

Tinubu recklessly hyke dollar price, electric tariff from 68 to 220 naira, import duty increase on monthly bases and many more.
Tinubu closssed the border and returned back to export the few cassava and yam in Nigeria to prove that his govt has started exporting foods.
Tinubu is heartless.
Re: Watch Peter Obi Say The First Thing He'll Do If Elected Is Remove Fuel Subsidy by EyeCumInPiece: 7:52am On Aug 05
Subsidy removal is not really the issue.

The most important thing is the measures you put in place to counter the effect of Subsidy Removal, so that the effect of that removal will not result in hyper inflation.

Tinubu is totally clueless on these counter measures. That's where the problem is.

There is even confusion as per whether subsidy is still in place, so what Nigerians actually want is for Tinubu to return Fuel price to where he met it.

Obi's inconsistency is glaring! One moment he's calling for subsidy removal, the next he's against it. This flip-flopping just shows he lacks a clear vision. If he can't stick to his words, how can we trust him to lead? Politics truly is a dirty game!

Ayam among the few sane Nigerians who knows that Atiku, balablu, obi etc have no good clear-cut people oriented economic policies.

They just want to be president that's all.

Thank you very much sir.
I don’t know why they are so fixated on Mr Peter Obi.
I’m sure Mr Obi wouldn’t have removed subsidy like an agbero on his inauguration as president.
I’m sure Peter Obi wouldn’t have devalued the Naira immediately removing fuel subsidy.
I’m sure Obi wouldn’t have followed it up with removing Power and Education subsidies.
Obi wouldn’t have been lavishing our little money that is left.
And so on…

Peter Obi is just talking nonsense again, thinking he can trick Nigerians with his empty promises. Removing fuel subsidy won't solve anything when he can't even manage his own party!

Dear Sycophants.

On August 29 2023, Tinubu’s government promised to create 50 million jobs and revive the economy.

This is almost one year. How far with your messiah’s plan?

Where is the economic revival? Where are the jobs?
