I can't believe someone would comment "good initiative" to this considering the economic mishap the country and citizens are currently embroiled in.

Imagine having to pay #2,500 per charge that'd last a day multiplied by 20 days.

I'm just so short of words to describe the kind of humans we have in every elective and appointed offices in this British company.
in saner climes it's more expensive that's why they have more money to develop facilities that's helping their economy.

The users should calculate which will be cheaper between petrol and this 2,500/charge.

I think 2,500 per charge is a lot. 500 to 750 would have been ok since it is a bike

Nah.... Technically the bikes are connected to band A power line.... So I think they following the payment price plan ... Although I think 1500 is ok

Ogun have a population of 7 million, Nigerian GDP per capita is 1.6 million yearly

200k tax on average individuals per year
Gives you 1.4 trillion that's the minimum amount Ogun us supposed to get from tax

There is no how u pay that money n elect idiots
There is no how a good person ruled for 8 years with that money that u won't get great value for your money

Before you jump, find out how much petrol dey use in a day.
You ask a question and didn't even answer it or wait for the answer before dropping your analysis.

You and CBN Stats! Abeg no follow am, it's just another Google map.

mrvitalis:

The average Ogun person according to CBN earns 1.6 million

If you earn 100k pay the 20 let someone who earns 200 million pay their 40 million
That's how taxing system works

This is actually a good initiative tho. And I think they mean you only pay the 2.5k once in a day and you can come back and charge as many times as you want as long as it is that day. And besides, there's room for improvement.

ad if anybody forced it on you, nothing in this life can ever be good to some people, not even the life they are living.
A reasonable and normal human being will think about how much fuel will last up to 80km before making senseless comments.
2500 per day is less than 6ltrs of petrol for 80km,where is your logical reasoning?

Average ogun person earns 1.6 million according to cbn and you believe that. Factory workers, bus, keke, okada, market women, artisans, private school teacher, nurse earn 1.6. Abi you think every one in Ogun dey work for office. Even most people working in office don't earn 1.6

2500 per day for a commercial bike man compared to buying petrol is fair for both parties. I don't understand the scathing attacks from these perpetual haters of initiatives. Enikuure

The problem is not even the 2500, but the distance to the charging ports for people not staying around the capital and even the time it will take to charge it, you will have to sit for hours to charge cos if you looseguard your bike is gone.
Unless the bikes will only be used for commercial purposes just around the capital

A civil servant that pays 2,500 per day for 21 working days in a month excluding weekends would spend 52,500 naira just to power his/her bike.
How much is minimum wage?

2,500 per day is not realistic bro, distance matters and how often you ride it in a day. .just like phone wey dem go say 7hrs use after full bar,but when you play games or watch movies etc, e fit no reach that hour e go low

I have 60v70 battery wey I buy 3,500... na 3 to 4 days e dey last me, sometimes when I go long trip or ride with speed e no dey reach 3days e go low

Na why most of us dey carry charger for the bike box....so u see it's not really realistic plus the charging point no dey most of the places, to avoid going on a trip and e dey low,you go wan charge to be able to return again, passengers to carry on a daily ,it takes hours to full charge

Mine uses 630volts ,10amp charger e dey charge fast so it takes 7hours to full from 0-100%

The last one is knowing the type of charger to use because e dey blow, if u use bigger charger, e go blow the battery,if you use small charger,e go over slow

And availability of the battery in the market and charger too

Even if they give it for free people like the person you quoted will still complain that the government didn't also find passengers for them. Nigeria has a large population of greedy, entitled people that can never be satisfied. They know nothing about the technology of EV but would criticize every initiative. The world is graduating to EV, electric vehicle but our people will condemn it but when they see it in Bemin Republic, they start shouting BAT come and see your life even small Benin Republic. Innoson has started EV too and EVs are not cheap in the meantime once a technology becomes democratized, it becomes cheaper

A 40% reduction in fuel costs will translate to about #350 per litre. This is the target pump price of some analysts. So it doesn't return life to what it used to be.

So government should land PMS at N1,300 and sell to you at N350, right? Why do you think they will get the money to sustain a subsidy of N950 per liter? And then still build road, subsidize education, subsidize electricity, pay FG workers monthly, build bridges and railways, defend the Naira, give free CNG Buses, fund social investment programs etc?

Like, do you guys even have any understanding of how to run government at all?

In a society where the people trust the government to prudently manager their resources and deliver good governance what you said here would make perfect sense.
It's not that Nigeria don't like to pay taxes, it's that they have lost confidence in the government ever utilising those taxes for the benefit of all.
