Noooo, stick with the nokia o cos even the highest speed i got when using the unlimited ultra (200gb data limit but speed is uncapped), was 160mbps which is still within the realm of 4G ....

Hope u get me?

Until they start giving us speeds like 600mbps, then u may consider switching but for now, stick with the nokia jare...

By the way, does this nokia router, have an external antenna? Cos the unboxing i watched was kinda funny: saw some cable sticking out..

FarEl18:
Do you mean it's only the 20mbps you can do?

I currently use the Nokia receiver + router and use the same 20mbps unlimited plan. But I was thinking of switching and buying the Airtel 5G router and be using it for either the 20, 40 or 60 mbps plan because the router is more portable and has a power bank.

Do the other unlimited plans work on the 5G router?

Okay Thanks. I

Actually, it comes in 2 units (at least mine, I can see some people posting a newer one that is just one unit). One is the receiver and the other is the router. You are supposed to place the receiver close to a window and it is what holds the Airtel sim. Then you connect the receiver to the router via LAN/Ethernet which broadcasts the WiFi signal.

Fyi, I sometimes connect from the receiver directly to my laptop using LAN.

I would love to get the Nokia airtel 5g router, is it true you can't use it without electricity...though I have no problem with that

I don't know o but I heard so ...

The one I have is the Airtel X25 5G Router and it comes with its own UPS ....

As a backup, I bought a usb to round port cable so able to use the router on normal power bank whenever the ups is out of power

Alright thank you...though, I don't have issues with electricity in my place though.
I will opt for this then. The unlimited plan is good one from Airtel tbh

I tire ... the max we've done is about 650gb and i was doing some heavy download - tuts, footages for editing, vfx, etc ... but on a normal day, just 250gb is what we normally clock and its super fair for 20k ....

Bro i need your help. MTN wan kill me!

For the sake of clarity, does the 20k 20mbps (or even the 200gb throttled one) work on this 4G pocket Mifi?

If yes, can I just do it on my current airtel sim card or is there a special way to do it?

I can't just buy the 5G router at the moment cos I've spend over 60k for data in my family just in a month+ on data...

If you can get an Airtel broadband sim or have your current Airtel SIM migrated to broadband tariff, then it will work. I don't know how you are going to get either done. I have personally used the 20k for 20Mbps router sim on my phone and it works fine.

Mtn? Na the name i fear most now o ... dem fit kee person with data billing and disappearance ... Its good to switch to airtel jare ....

And i think there's airtel plan for that your mifi o!

Best thing to do is to go to their website: https://airtel.com.ng and input that airtel no there, then click to buy bundle ... carefully look ... i've seen that plan there too ... afterall, we are not using the full power of the 5G sef so 20mbps go work wella with your mifi

Log into 'My Airtel' app with the MiFi number, go bundles, see if the circled data bundles are available.

Ok let me try this...

Update: tried this and attached is what it shows, the regular data plans and not the unlimited ones... I am guessing it will be a new unlimited 5G sim that comes with the 5G router. I don't know if there is a way to upgrade a 4G sim to a 5G sim?

There's no such thing as a 5G sim on Airtel or MTN network. The airtel unlimited plans, as I understand it, are only available on specific tariff. Call Airtel, tell them to migrate the tariff of your current Airtel line to broadband tariff. If they refuse, go and buy the Android TV box/router device from Airtel. It comes with the 20k/20Mbps unlimited plan and retails for 25k.

I got it for 20k back in March, came bundled with the 20k/20Mbps unlimited plan. But I believe it's 50k now or there about. The flat one is the 5G/4G receiver and other one is the router.

Well that one is 60k (Airtel Nokia 5G), according to the man in charge (Osun state).

But I just got the Airtel Smartbox 5g router this afternoon, and it is 50k. Cheaper than Nokia own now...maybe location based sha.

Wow... from 20k to 60k, that's a whole lot of difference.

This is basically demand overwhelming supply. It has nothing to do with inflation. When I wanted to buy,I bought the 5G router for 75k in Lagos. I couldn't find it in my state

I read through this thread and I was convinced enough to opt-in for the unlimited plan as mtn is draining me.

I just got the Hertz6 4G Broadband router today and it comes with 20k/20mbps plan.

It supports 5G too

You mean 5Ghz frequency, right?

Has to be. I also got the Hertz6 device earlier this week and the airtel sales person was very adamant that it supports 5G.

Turns out the issue came from what was written at the back of the router. Tried explaining that it’s just frequency, and there’s supposed to be a ‘Hz’ at the back, but she doubled down that it was actually 5G. I gave up and carried my device and left

Good afternoon all, this airtel unlimited plan, can it be shared to others? Like, can I send maybe 2gb to another person's simcard (I am not referring to Hotspot)?

It's called unlimited for a reason. There's no specific data attached to it, so you can't share to others.
