I see a lot of people failing to understand why Russian flags are popping up in the current protests. Its really very simple and nothing new and requires no sponsorship or interference from Russia or anywhere else. It is exactly what has been seen all over the Sahel (and the North is part of the Sahel) whenever there have been movements against Government. It also appears in other places and the reason is organic.

Most of these protests are caused by intense hardship created by strict policies which are insisted on by Western institutions such as the IMF. Those institutions are also agents in funding and supporting governments or politicians. Their logic is extremely simple -

1. We give you money, and so you need a lot of money to pay us back. Take that money from your people by removing subsidies. That way we can do business better since your cash flow will be better. Mind you, this cash flow is strictly to pay us with all our interests on the easy.

2. At the same time your Foreign Exchange regime must be free market - do not control it at all. That way, we can devalue your currency and make you pay more of your currency for less of our dollars - making it ever harder for you to pay us and ensuring that you incur interest for ever.

3. You must increase taxes at every level to raise more money for us.

These policies are not new. They have been marketed to African leaders everywhere.

This is exactly what has happened in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and now Nigeria, and even others. Every where these policies have been implemented the result has been mass starvation and have ALWAYS led to protests and riots.

So many people, particularly in the Sahel (where the Francophone countries were tired of French economic manipulation) understand that these policies are from the West and that they are targetted at making poor people ever poorer.

For this reason, they simply automatically support the natural enemy of the West and that is Russia. And that, my friends is the simple reason you see Russian flags in these kinds of protests. Its a rebellion against the West. It never fails to pop up.

You should also understand that the speed with which Tinubu removed subsidies and floated the naira is simply his obedience to the West. At that time he was also going to be used fast by the West against Niger Republic, but water pass garri. All of these things, are just commands he was receiving from his masters. And it is the sole reason many other things behind the scenes are happening.

It is the sole reason many times, power changes hands, and it is he who does the bidding of the west that wins.

This is what is happening, so I just wish to explain to people who think there is a Russian conspiracy or funding of Russian flags. No need. It is organic.

For those who don't have the patience to read the long post, here is a summary:

The post argues that the appearance of Russian flags in recent Nigerian protests is not a result of Russian interference or sponsorship, but rather a symbolic rejection of Western economic policies.

The author claims that strict economic policies imposed by Western institutions like the IMF, such as subsidy removal, currency devaluation, and tax increases, have led to widespread hardship in African countries. These policies, often implemented at the behest of Western governments, have historically sparked protests and unrest.

As a result, people, particularly in the Sahel region, view Russia as a symbolic opposition to the West. The use of Russian flags in protests is seen as a way to express discontent with Western economic dominance and its impact on their lives.

The author specifically points to Nigeria's recent economic policies, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira, as examples of Western influence. These policies, according to the text, have contributed to the current protests and the display of Russian flags.

You're welcome 🤗

Spot on. Spot on.

And may I add that it is also a sign of the filial relationship and cultural bond that exists between the northern part of Nigeria and the rest of the Sahel.

This part of Africa have always distrusted the West and they see more ample reason to do so now.

What most Nigerians don't know is that Niger's economy has experienced a resurgence since the military coup.

In fact, the military has reduced fuel and electricity prices in Niger early this year and the economy is growing faster than Nigeria's.

Not only that, Nigeria's currency devaluation has made our economy unattractive to Niger.

These our northern brothers see and believe it is due to the fact that Niger is walking with the right crowd a.k.a Russia while Tinubu is seen as pro-West and hated by the Sahelian belt due to his posture in the early days of the coup.

So, Russia represents a better life while the West represents poverty.

The reason why our president has to forfeit thousands of dollars in America. America in turn used this to blackmail him to do their bidding. Too many controversies about Tinubu history altogether

We always claim to know more than people whose systems and policies we copy.

Everyone claims to know it all until he/she is in the saddle.

Why are they not flying the flags of Islamic countries?
Are they not enemies of the west too?

Can you assist by letting us know just one third world country where IMF recommended subsidy removals and currency devaluations have led to prosperity or even failed to introduce starvation?

I think the reason for using Russian flag is because it is easier for any quack tailor to make due to the simple design unlike the American and British flags also add to it

They propose these plan because they know poor countries are daft and desperate. This is similar to Haiti signing itself into eternal debt trap to France simply because of fake 'independence' just as francophone Africa also signed poor fiscal policies tied to the French government. It is all a ploy to keep third world countries down so that the west can remain in control by proxy. Countries like South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan ignored IMF and world bank proposals and it turned out great for them. Sri Lanka, Ghana and now Nigeria did the opposite and we can now see the results
Re: The Simple Explanation Of Russian Flags In The North by futurenix(m): 7:23am On Aug 06
The flag is simply asking military to take over. There is a green after the white that distinguish it from the Russian flag but they did not include it for some reason you will learn later.

That's the armed forces flag for Army,Air force and Navy in Nigeria when the green is attached.

Those countries innovate that’s it, we’re largely consumers and oversabis with lower actual productivity and value creation

Our problem is we don’t believe in building or maybe lack the capacity and patriotism to build. Sometimes I feel we gained our independence too early.

Whatever it is, we need to be recolonized.

Visit Dangote refinery it was built and is being managed by foreigners. For a country that’s been drilling and supposedly refining oil for over 50 years, we ought to have at least gotten oil production right.
