Food Crisis: Register For N40,000 Rice - FG Tells Public Servants by BeeBeeOoh(m): 5:27am On Aug 06
The Federal Government has concluded plans to sell a 50kg bag of rice at N40,000 to public servants with a view to alleviating the food crisis in the nation and its effects on Nigerians.

This was disclosed in a letter from the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, which was signed by the Director of Human Resources of the Ministry, Jaiyesimi Abimbola.

The letter said all interested staff members were to complete a Google form on the OHCSF website and submit it to the director of human resources for endorsement.

It noted that payment for and the distribution of the rice would be coordinated by designated offices while the chairman, Joint Union Council of the ministry, would serve as an observer for transparency reasons in the course of the exercise.

“As part of the Federal Government’s efforts to alleviate the current food crisis in the country and its effects on the general population, I am directed to inform you that 50kg bags of rice will be sold at a subsidised rate of N40,000 only per bag to interested public servants in Abuja.

“For effective implementation, all interested staff are required to complete a Google form on the OHCSF website, https://www.ohcsf.gov.ng, print, and submit same to the Director, HR, for endorsement.

“Payment for and distribution of the rice will be coordinated by designated officials while the chairman, Joint Union Council of the Ministry is required to serve as an observer during the period of the exercise for the purpose of transparency.

“I am to add that each staff is only entitled to purchase one bag. Two or more staff may also jointly pay for a bag for sharing among themselves.

“Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of staff in your respective Departments/Units for information and guidance.”

The Federal Government had recently said it had created centres across the country where Nigerians could purchase 50kg bags of rice for N40,000.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris, said the initiative was one of several initiatives by the Tinubu administration to ease living conditions for citizens.

Are the civil/public servants the ones doing the protest? They are not even up to 2% of the population

Students in tertiary institutions and schools can barely feed and you think they don't matter. Return school feeding programs even if it's for a year or until a time the government anticipate their policies will start working.

Just imagine grin

So they must first of all fill forms and documents first before they can be able to get a bag of rice?

Then again, what about the poor masses who are protesting? undecided. Nothing for them? undecided

Honestly, this Tinubu regime na the most clueless regime so far angry

Another useless policy.
What then will be the fate of those that are not public servants? Or what about the public servants that will buy at the rate of 40k and resell to the general public at exorbitant rate?

All these palliatives and sub-subsidies can't save the economy woes of the country
Capital visible projects and infrastructures are the only palliatives that can go round.

Think, Tinubu think deep for once.

Tinubu, a bad man with good intentions.

The rest that are not civil servants and can't have access to the rice aren't nigerians. Is it even only rice nigerians are eating?

This is a commendable initiative from the FG! Selling rice at a subsidized rate will definitely help public servants cope with the current food crisis.

The transparency measures in place are also reassuring. It's good to see the government taking steps to alleviate the burden on Nigerians. Let's hope more such initiatives follow to support the citizens!

Nonsense.
So, people need to go online just to buy rice for 40k?. Is 40k even cheap with a minimum wage of 30k?
Tinubu has scattered the country

Peter Obi and Obidients are truly learning their lessons

This is a solid move by the FG to cushion the effects of the food crisis. Selling rice at a subsidized rate is a step in the right direction. Kudos to the Tinubu administration for prioritizing the welfare of public servants and Nigerians at large. Let's hope for more initiatives like this to help our people!

So, Civil servants registering to get a bag of 50kg of rice 40k is a way this government has seen they can alliviate the sufferings of the people?
For them to even call it subsidy means no plan for food stuffs to get down any time.

Nigerians get ready!

The government of President Tinubu with those "Professors in Banking, Economics, Financing and Management " appointed and those he hired when he has seen that the economy has collapsed, till today do not even have any means or ideal of salvaging the shattered economy.

Let's just say the truth heaven will not fall.

Tinubu's administration is a total failure.

If people like Boko haram Bandits or other terrorists in the North hijack this protest, then it is finished......The rate this is going, I see it happening, if he doesn't act fast....Me wey dey pH no even follow any protest but these Northerners, theirs is getting out of hand. And i see terrorists joining them to achieve their aim
