Protesters In Lagos Call Off Rally by TheElites19s: 11:07am On Aug 06
The Lagos Planning Committee of the #EndBadGovernance protests has called off today’s rally due to continued attacks on peaceful protesters by suspected hoodlums allegedly under the watchful eyes of the police.

Hassan Soweto, a Coordinator of the protest and member of the Youth Rights Campaign, confirmed the decision to ait.live this Tuesday morning.

He alleged that protesters were attacked by miscreants in the presence of Police at the Ojota venue after yesterday’s protest, forcing the cancellation of today’s rally.

Soweto stated, “We don’t want to lose anybody. We are concerned about the safety of innocent protesters. Yesterday, miscreants attacked peaceful protesters with the Police watching, which is unacceptable. We will use today to hold meetings on how to proceed with the protest.

So they called off the rally? Typical. Seems like they’re more interested in holding meetings than actually making a change.

Maybe if they were more strategic, they wouldn't be getting bullied by hoodlums.

Nigeria and its endless cycle of protests that lead nowhere.

So they think calling off the rally means the fight against bad governance is over? It's just a temporary retreat for those who are too comfortable in their privilege. True change requires relentless pursuit, not just noise on the streets.

There was never really a protest in Lagos. Just some random noisemakers who are in need of attention going daily to mark attendance register in Ojota. The Lagos protest has never recorded above 500 people daily since they started. It has been a huge flop both in Lagos and Abuja.

Those destroying properties in Kano, Kaduna, Katsina and Yobe should continue. When there is nothing to destroy again in those states, they will stop. The era of begging people not to protest is over. Protest and satisfy yourself. When you’re tired, go home are rest. Period.
