Oga yMcy56, I throw salute o! 🫡 I believe the time for harvest for DS and NS will come. It's just a matter of patience and commitment. By the time the foreign exchange rates stabilizes and the effect of their backward integration project is fully operational, Dangote Sugar may even start exporting raw sugar to other Countries.

The deficit in that local sugar industry is massive (na like oil palm) and as Oga OneGentleGuy will always say, Mr Time is usually one's best friend in the market, but many do not realise it.

Many have learnt this lesson from Presco PLC and Okomu PLC which sold for around NGN10 in 2010, paid several dividends, given bonuses and are sitting at a geometric price standard today.

Many of us shouldn't even be buying these stocks for ourselves but for the children and future grandchildren, and great grandchildren sef.

CBO Capital Partners (CBO) Limited, a major shareholder of Ellah Lakes Plc, has decided to transfer a portion of its equity stake to its shareholders and creditors in a move that will further dilute the ownership structure of Ellah Lakes.

Ellah Lakes made this known in a statement signed by its head of Administration, Modupe Ejikeme. The chief executive officer, Ellah Lakes, Mr. Chuka Mordi said that CBO Capital Partners, a major shareholder of Ellah Lakes, is transferring a portion of its’ Ellah Lakes shares to its’ shareholders and creditors in a cross deal.

He stated that this trade move is aimed at offsetting CBO’s outstanding obligations to CBO Shareholders, while simultaneously fulfilling Nigerian Exchange Limited’s (NGX) requirements on the free floating of Ellah Lakes shares.

“By undertaking this strategic move, CBO is demonstrating its commitment to financial responsibility and compliance with regulatory standards set forth by the NGX.

“The decision to transfer a portion of Ellah Lakes shares to its’ creditors not only help CBO manage its’ obligations effectively, but also enhances the liquidity and free float of Ellah Lakes shares in the market,” he explained.

Mordi noted that this cross deal signifies a proactive approach by CBO to strengthen its’ financial position and support the stability and growth of Ellah Lakes Plc, saying that “we believe that this trade move will have a positive impact on all stakeholders involved and contribute to the overall success of Ellah Lakes Plc.”

Ellah Lakes had signed many agreements in recent period for major projects that are expected to form the backbone of the company’s business diversification drive.

It had reached an agreement to build a 600-tons sugar refinery in collaboration with Montserrado Investment Limited. The sugar processing facility is expected to run on 100 per cent renewable power.

Ellah Lakes had earlier reached agreement with Ondo State on the development of a palm oil and cassava farm, covering about 5,000 hectares. Both partners would jointly develop and manage the farm for the cultivation of oil palm and cassava in Ondo state.

Ellah Lakes had in August 2020 entered into exclusive discussions to acquire the entire issued capital of an oil palm processing company with substantial assets in Delta State.

Ellah Lakes was incorporated on July 2, 1980 and was listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on January 14, 1993. Originally a fish-farming company, Ellah Lakes had recently embarked on a comprehensive restructuring and diversification of its businesses. In 2019, it acquired Telluria in order to diversify its product offerings in the agribusiness sector

Oando has a 40% Working Interest (WI) in OML 13 (QUA IBO). That is WHY

Most of us here don't even understand the upstream business let alone know how to value Oando, a company with negative equity. Let's just keep watching, okay?

BTW, this has nothing to do with the NAOC acquisition that effectively doubles production.

Forgot to include disclaimer so here goes: Not a recommendation to buy or sell Oando as I'm not qualified to give any form of financial advice. I have also been wrong many times before.

Originally a fish-farming company, Ellah Lakes had recently embarked on a comprehensive restructuring and diversification of its businesses. In 2019, it acquired Telluria in order to diversify its product offerings in the agribusiness sector

The potential impacts of this news for Ellah Lakes. Let's break down the key points and their implications:

1. Share Transfer by CBO Capital Partners:
CBO Capital Partners, a major shareholder of Ellah Lakes Plc, is transferring a portion of its shares to its own shareholders and creditors. This move will likely have several effects:

- Ownership Dilution: This will further dilute the ownership structure of Ellah Lakes, meaning CBO's control over the company may decrease.
- Increased Free Float: More shares will be available for trading on the open market, potentially increasing liquidity.
- Compliance with NGX Requirements: This move helps meet Nigerian Exchange Limited's (NGX) requirements for free-floating shares.

2. Financial Implications for CBO:
- Debt Settlement: CBO is using this move to offset its outstanding obligations to its shareholders and creditors.
- Financial Responsibility: This demonstrates CBO's commitment to managing its financial obligations.

3. Potential Impacts on Ellah Lakes:

a) Positive Impacts:
- Increased Liquidity: More freely traded shares could lead to better price discovery and potentially easier capital raising in the future.
- Regulatory Compliance: Meeting NGX requirements could improve the company's standing with regulators and investors.
- Stability: Resolving a major shareholder's financial obligations could reduce uncertainty around the company.

b) Potential Challenges:
- Ownership Changes: The shift in ownership structure could lead to changes in company direction or strategy if new influential shareholders emerge.
- Short-term Stock Price Volatility: The market may react to this news, potentially causing some short-term price fluctuations.

4. Long-term Outlook:
The news also mentions several positive developments for Ellah Lakes:
- Diversification efforts, including agreements for sugar refinery and palm oil/cassava farming.
- Potential acquisition of an oil palm processing company.

These projects suggest that Ellah Lakes is actively working on growth and diversification, which could positively impact its long-term prospects.

In conclusion, while this share transfer may cause some short-term changes in ownership structure and possibly stock price, it appears to be a strategic move that could enhance Ellah Lakes' compliance, liquidity, and financial stability. Combined with the company's ongoing diversification efforts, the overall impact could be positive for Ellah Lakes in the long run, although it will be important to monitor how the new ownership structure affects company strategy and performance.

Copied... cool

Conservative FVE for PRESCO is @ N561.9 at present, so the stock is a buy @ CMP.

But as you know; I always prefer to be an "early bird".
Why didn't you key in before now? PRESCO was trading for less than N57 when I put out the post above.
Someone sent me a mail earlier asking if CHAMS is a buy @ the CMP, and my response was simple; why didn't you take position when I was practically screaming about the stock @ 20--21k.

The reason some folks will argue about the value accretive stance of an asset when it's ridiculously underpriced but turn around to praise the same asset after it must delivered triple-digit return (even after 500--650% ROI in some instances) is the inability to proficiently and efficiently interpret financial statements.

I did highlight the immense potential in PRESCO at about the same time I issued an outperform rating on TRANSCORP @ 97k. Even @ N1.3, I remained resolute in my inquest-based analysis of TRANSCORP but some dude tagged them an epistle.
Today everyone thinks that both coys are the next best thing after sliced bread. wink cheesy grin

Not surprised though. Afterall, people also argued with me about FIDSON @ N1.1, PZ @ N4, WEMA @ 55-58k, NEIMETH @ 38--40k, UACN @ N4+, GUINESS @ N14+, UNILEVER @ N10+, ,GSK @ N5, UPDC @ 70k, STERLING @ N1.4, ACEESS/UBA swaps @ N8--9.7, ZENITH @ N9+, GTB @ N17... to mention a few.
Today most folks are excited about the present and future prospects of these coys.

I recall stating in very clear terms why I'd gladly swap OKOMU for PRESCO or assign a much higher portfolio weighting (ref:70/30) in favour of the latter following a comparative analysis on both coys. ...with the former trading @ near 80% premium to the latter at the time.
But then again, someone called it an epistle because according to him, PRESCO didn't declare a good enough dividend.

In recent times some have also argued about certain coys, but I always pray that God should continue to preserve us alive so we live long enough to see how TIME sets matters straight as always.
...everyone knows I LOVE Mr. Time. wink cheesy cool

It is well

What MAY eventually happen is that the market may reprice Oando using a discounted PE value of Seplat IF and only IF 2024 quaterly results confirm the turnaround story. Your assignment is to find out the implication IF this were to play out. Market CAP is c. N350B based on current price.

Speaking of the NAOC deal, for anyone who is interested. Please take note of first three dot points. The information the market knows is out there, it is for you to try make sense of it.
