Pls l need help on how to write letter of explanation for my children's study permit. I am currently a student and my husband is on work permit. We are both residing in Canada. We are in the process of applying for study visa for our children who are currently in Nigeria.
My question is: should we write letter of explanation separately i.e l write my own LOE while my husband write his or we should write it together as couple?

According to IRCC protocols, study permit applications from Nigeria are processed by IRCC Nairobi, however, when caseloads are high, applications can be rerouted to other visa offices like RROC, which is their Rapid Response Center meaning whilst there is a high chance your application might be processed in Nairobi, there isa slim chance it is processed outside Nairobi.

The principal applicant (YOU) should be the one writing since everyone is coming based on their visa approval.

No you don’t need it

Work Visa is taken seriously by Canada govt so RROC (Toronto) handles it primarily while Nairobi is the secondary office.

For Visit, Local office handles it primarily while Nairobi is the secondary office.

You can send emails for status update, though IRCC has been slow with work permit applications lately

I now see why IRCC is not prioritizing SOWP for foreign National.

Rapid Response office in Canada.

Reason is there is a cap for Foreign Workers as they are trying to reduce it from 7% to 5% or even lower.
Only Construction and Health sectors are exempted from the Foreign Workers approval caps.

Sorry, processing times for work permit has been very slow, though some people have said that IRCC is deliberately slowing down approvals for work permit requests. Just be hopeful.

The bitter truth is that Canada is not interested in giving out any work permit now. Everywhere is red as far as the labour market is concern. Even many of the students currently studying may not get PR.

Please do not panic, some people do not like announcing their approvals and refusals, just hope for the best on your application

@bobomaigida, I applied for my spouse for Outland SOWP with my study permit extension on February 3rd using my IRCC account, i have been approved of mine since early march , but no update on his own, just medicals updated since march 14th. Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out for guidance and support regarding my pending applications with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Despite submitting my applications on December 18, 2023, and completing biometrics and medical exams in January 2024, I've yet to receive an update. It's been over 8months now.

- My application: Spousal Open Work Permit
- My daughter's application: Visitor Visa

I've submitted multiple web forms, but unfortunately, I haven't received a response. Has anyone experienced a similar delay? Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
