BREAKING!!! "Have Faith In Us" - Tinubu Speaks to Nigerians Again as Protests Continue| #Politicsnigeria

President Bola Tinubu has again urged Nigerians to remain calm and patient as his administration works to address the country’s economic challenges.

The President’s plea comes as protests continue to rock several states across the country.

Among other demands, the protesters are demanding the resumption of subsidy of fuel, which was removed by Tinubu on May 29, 2023, following his swearing-in as president.

In an official video released by the State House on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, President Tinubu acknowledged the difficulties faced by Nigerians, admitting that the transition has been tougher than expected.

He attributed the hardship to an “avoidable lag” between the subsidy removal and the implementation of his administration’s plans.

However, President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that his policies would ultimately yield positive results.

He said, “Fellow Nigerians, this period may be hard on us and there’s no doubt that it is tough on us but I urge you all to look beyond the present temporary pains and aim at the larger picture. All our good and helpful plans are in the works. More importantly, I know that they will work. Sadly, there was an avoidable lag between subsidy removal and these plans coming fully on line.”

“I plead with you, please, have faith in our ability to deliver and in our concern for your well-being. We will get out of this turbulence and due to the measures we have taken, Nigeria will be better equipped and able to take advantage of the future that awaits her.

“For example, we shall fulfill our promise to make education more affordable to all and provide loans to higher education students who may need them. No Nigerian students will have to abandon higher education system because of lack of money.

“Our commitment is to promote the greatest good for the greatest number of our people. On principle, we shall never falter, I assure you, my fellow countrymen and women, that we are exiting the darkness to enter a new and glorious dawn. Now, I must get back to work in order to make this vision come true.”

This is the second time President Tinubu has addressed the nation amid the ongoing protests and unrest. He previously addressed the nation in a national broadcast on Sunday, August 4, 2024.

I am already tired of discussing Nigeria's political issues because things keep getting worse instead of better.
I booked this space just to prevent Tinubu restless supporters from using it to repeat the gibberish they have been spewing all around this platform which has resulted into many intelligent commenters and analysts to stop commenting and contributing their knowledge here, thereby making this site to become boring with monotonous posts.

What can anyone learn from a Moniker like Helinus who virtually lives on Nairaland 24/7 or mannabbqgrillz (now turned into a Bot account by Nairaland that cannot be quoted or mentioned directly) who still refers to Buhari as 'our Darling Daddy' after 9 years of spreading propaganda here in defence of Buhari and causing damage to this site with excess bigotry.

I hope Seun will consider bringing a block 🚫 button here so that any Moniker that has potential to make your brain dull from continuously seeing their propaganda you put them on Mute and save your mental health if you don't plan to quit Nairaland.

When I discovered Nairaland years back it used to be among the most visited websites in Nigeria but now its far below the list and if you observe those commenting on any topics on FP may not be more than 20 people doing back and forth from morning to night and day to day.

Yeye gbajue president 😂

Student loans in a nation where graduates of more than a decade ago are still looking for jobs?

Student loans, an initiative that its success depends on the students paying back the loans AFTER getting JOBS... where are the jobs? 😂 ..Where is the database for proper accountability? When we can't even maintain govt websites? Is this nigga for real?

It works in the US because they have a vibrant economy ready to absorb graduates immediately, even at that, its a heavy burden to American taxpayers!

Running a successful student loan scheme is NO MEAN FEAT!
Always putting the cart before the horse.

Always making stupid populist decisions without critically thinking them through. Copying successful initiatives from saner climes WITHOUT COPYING WHAT MAKES THEM SUCCESSFUL IN THE FIRST PLACE!

What a joke of a man! A man who has been thoroughly demystified otherwise he would have gone down in history as the BEST PRESIDENT NIGERIA NEVER HAD like AWO and MKO.. 😂

I never believed in my life I would see any person who would make Buhari look like a freaking genius! 🤦🏾‍♂️

This man is a beacon of hope in turbulent times. Faith is what we need, not chaos. Those protesting should channel their energy into constructive dialogue instead of tearing down what has been built. Progress takes time, and Tinubu is laying the foundation for a brighter future. Let's support our leaders instead of fueling division.

.
I fully support the agitation for an end to bad governance across all of Nigeria, and I am particularly happy that the Northern States are not backing down at all. Enough is Enough abeg! No more audio promises that leave Nigerians always at the losing end. We saw this for 8 years of Buhari, and one year of Tinubu... that is over 9 years of Nigerians losing trillions of Naira to gain absolutely nothing. undecided

Easy to tell citizens to be patient when your needs are well taken care off. In economics the time lag between an action and effect cannot be predicted. So Nigerians might end up waiting for next 7 years without any improvement

A President who uses bribery and corruption to coax people into not protesting against bad governance is not a good president. A president who uses force to manipulate his people's protest is not a good president. It does not matter what he thinks he knows. undecided

What should he have done?

I believe unemployment has to do with limited jobs shared by neighboring countries.

If we must succeed, it's imperative we identify genuine citizens of this country by issuing citizenship I.D card. Then ensure all foreigners are documented.

Advantages
1. Job security
2. National security.

When there is National security, foreigners including Nigerians abroad will come down and invest in Nigeria.

For now, no investor will risk his/her life investing in Nigeria. Even Nigerians prefer to japa with millions of Naira rather than invest.
