Thinking of selling a large chunk of my Transcorp Power shares at a discount via a cross deal. About 10,000 units. Any serious buyer can make me an offer and I'll decide if its good enough.. if i accept your offer, you'll have to deal with my stockbrokers who are based in Lagos... send in your bids if interested 😁

PATIENCE WINS THE GAME. These sharks deliberately keep a stock suppressed until they have bought to their satisfaction and force weak hands to sell off out of impatience.

Dear forum members,
I would like to ask knowledgeable members about C&I leasing
Recently, the company declared an interim dividend of 0.05 kobo(closure of Reg 12th August 2024), despite the outstanding bonus issue of January 5th, 2024 (closure of Reg)- specifically, the 2-for-3 bonus issue. However, the said bonus has yet to be credited to our CSCS account statements. My question is: will the interim dividend benefit the outstanding shares of individuals, or will it include the pending bonuses as well?
Thank you.

I guess you are referring to C & I Leasing.
I contacted their registrar yesterday to ask the same question and was informed that the dividend won’t apply to the bonus, notwithstanding the fact that the ex-dividend date is over 7 months later than that of the bonus date.

Was their share price marked down after the qualification date of the bonus?. I just checked and could not see such.

Also they have increased their outstanding shares to effect the bonus and their earnings are calculated based on the new outstanding shares with the dividend also based on that.
Some things are not adding up.
Perhaps the guys very knowledgeable about these things can shed more light

I recall it was marked down significantly, though I can't remember the price then.

*PS: It closed at N5.13 on January 4, 2024 to open at N3.08 on January 5, 2024 (Source: FSL securities price list historical data)

Unless investing is showing a wrong historical because what I can see is a Mark up. Looking at the chat below. See the closing price on 4th and the opening price on 5th. Normally the closing price of previous day should be the opening price of current day unless a markdown happens

Hello Bovali, my digital queen. I hope you're doing well. How is your S&P 500 investment faring? I'm finding the market to be quite unpredictable at the moment. Nevertheless, I remain optimistic about the future, especially if Kamala Harris were to win the US presidential election. Wishing you a wonderful day ahead.

My oga wa sabi follow the money. How far.which of the stock is giving you joy this morning

I am looking at UCAP (currently trading in overbought region but to pick up decent units upon pull back), increase my holding in Transcorp IF it drops below N10, DS, Wema (to pick up more units below 5.90), continue buying Ellah lakes below N3, do a bounce play on MTN and lastly swim with the sharks on O&O upon pull back…make I stop here… grin

I guess u are right.

It appears they recalculated the prices retrospectively by factoring in the new price post bonus.
I see them so that a lot especially with foreign stocks

The actual closing price in 4th was 5.13 and the opening price on 5th was 3.38 as seen from the NGX historical price chart

The unfortunate thing is also that the sharks only do cross deals off the floor and not touch the offers on the floor.

Just checked d documents for the egm.
It's to consider, discuss and if deemed pass special resolutions on 3 issues.
1. Increase in Share Capital.
2. Amendment of Memorandum of Association.
3. Bonus issues.

No dividend mentioned.

You are absolutely right. Alot of people are not reading in between the lines. UCAP is doing Extra Ordinary General Meeting [EGM] on August 21, 2024 and not the normal Annual General Meeting [AGM] and the purpose is for Shareholders to approve the Share allotment and share increase.

No of shares outstanding in the market will increase from August 21 hence the constant mop up before 21st.

Dividend payment happening on Aug 9 has nothing to do with the EGM. At current price, the stock seems undervalued and there is still space for uptick considering the forecasted revenue figures we expect the company to declare by the end of the year including the full dividend to be paid. UCAP has had one the top five dividend yield in the market within the last 3-years and same will happen this year.

Just that people dont always do their research well and follow the band wagon effect. Many people will come back scrambling.
