Courtesy demands that you politely wait for the guy to ask if you care for food and order when he gives you the nod to do so.

Even though the guy rightfully pointed out that their primary objective of meeting was to discuss not to eat. Common sense should have make her know that since they're in an eatery, they'll definitely eat. So why place orders ahead of the guy who brought you in? Why not patiently wait for him to ask you what you'd like to take?

You might make me think you have money on you, Thus leaving you to pay for your drinks. The right thing is to come in exchange greetings and wait for me to tell you to tell the bartender what you'd like to take.
