If you study engineering in Nigeria universities, and you can't practice what you study, shame on Y'all. China teaches their primary and secondary school students how to construct roads and build sky scraper from tender age, reason why China is were they are today.

What side of the road remains to be completed please?

The approach from Asaba is completed.
The exit and exit of the bridge into and out of Idemmili needs to asphalt.

I thought that they should be talking of lights on the bridge and rail guards / protecting the bridge from vandals by now.

This is a wise decision by the FG, we cannot afford to be wasteful with our resources. Let's ensure that the project is done right without unnecessary financial burdens.

If they had accepted, you would still say "it's a wise decision by the federal government."

Fear god o.

If his cronies are the ones handling construction in his Ebonyi State he should by all means bring them.

Nigeria need those type of selfish construction we can see with our twos eye built in record time

mentro:
I don't think it's business as usual for Julius Berger. But i don't trust the minister as he might want to bring in his own cronies.
The interest groups and selfishness in this country is legendary, making it difficult for the country to progress.
Let everybody go back to regional government abeg.

Julius Berger charge according to dollar rates and they are known not to give any kick backs. That's why most projects done by then are from federal government. They rarely work with states because of kickbacks and inflation.

JB has been scraping the FG's head since 1960... are they just waking up? grin

CCECC might do it for half the cost...
U are wrong JB works according to exchange rate. Ccecc will get it because of their usual kickbacks. Umahi construction company will win the contract as usual

Meanwhile, two days ago, the FG via CBN just funded the merger of Unity Bank and Providus Bank (both 100% private businesses) with the sum of N700 billion! 🤐

279 billion naira.for 17.8km. We should support and train more engineers in Nigeria and support them appropriately. No country will ever become second world nation, let alone first world nation, without a significant contribution of experts from within.
The question we as a nation should ask ourself is this; Can't COREN and other association of engineers + army corp of engineers team up to form a construction firm o bid for some of this projects? deploy all engineering corp members to different sites for on the field learning.

All this organisation know is to collect dues and speak stupid english in lecture auditorium.

Omo Julius berger want to skin Nigeria alive. Okay b4 inflation 1km is extimated to be completed with around 1m dollars but with inflation it is around 1.7b naira per km times 17*1.7= 28b then X 2 for a dual carriage thats 34… allowance for bridges and apertunaces we should have around 80b so even the 133b by federal government is higher but still okay considering that apc is a cancer but now Julius berger giving that figure omo!!!

Julius Berger was banned in germany I don't know why they are still allowed to work in Nigeria. Well I believe iys because of the bribes they dish out to government officials.

The Lagos ibadan road they just completed is in a very terrible state... the asphalt has failed ,there are potholes in the middle of the road the road is worse than it was before they started

I hope this is not a ploy to award it to Tinubu's High Tech at $150B, then after 6 months, revise the cost to N300B
That was how they inflated the Highway to nowhere from N7T to 20T and awarded it to High tech.

You already know.HITECH will get the contract and so it at the same 258 billion JB is asking for , if not more than that.

Very sensible comment. See others that comment before you saying trash and always linking everything to Tinubu cos of their hatred for him. The Minister is trying to prevent wastage on public funds but see them defending JB, emergency lovers of JB.
