Thank you
We just printed copies, they were accepted, and we weren't asked for an updated one.
Good luck to your friend's sister.

Thank you. She is already a Britiko; na my friend I am more interested in. Interview is August ending. Your come-back message is a great input to him and others. Merci.

After submission to NVC it took us about 6months for visa slot to be available. They you will be scheduled for the visa interview immediately like 2weeks to get prepared to visit the Consulate.

Yes, I'm F4
For context my mum is the primary applicant. Questions were directed at her,my siblings and I. After that, my siblings and I were asked to take sits away from the interview booth, and she was the only one being interviewed.

Questions we were asked
"Who is filing for you"
"Who is he to you"
To us children "have you ever met him"
"What is he like"
"Do you speak often"
"What do you speak about"
"What do you plan on doing when you arrive at the US"
"Is your petitioner your elder or younger sibling"
" Are the children your biological children "
"What does your petitioner do for a living"
"Is your petitioner married"
"Does your petitioner have children"
"When last did you see your petitioner"
" When did your petitioner last come to Nigeria"
"When did your petitioner leave for the US"
"Have any of you filed a non immigrant visa"
"How many times have you been to the US"

These were the questions we were asked, together and apart (primary applicant alone).

The interview questions from what I observed are not necessarily set in stone. The conversation flows at times.

A man was asked why he has 4 baby mommas and hasn't settled down.

Another was asked if he lives with his fiancee, how the relationship will be if he travels, and if he plans on getting married after the interview (The booths are close to the waiting chairs and interviewers can be loud at times so you can hear somethings).

A woman seemed to have issues with the police (I don't know if it was local or foreign) and was asked to explain the ordeal.

A woman was asked if her petitioner's kids lived with her petitioner, how old her petitioner's kids were, and where she planned on living on arrival to the US.

Translators for the languages Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, and Pidgin are available. There might be more, but these are the ones I saw.

Just came back to tell you that my visa has been approved.

I had a friendly chat with the white female Visa Officer.
I don't think there's anything to worry about if you are really the relative of your petitioner.
My category is F11 but I was given the list of IR2. Here:

Good morning everyone in here. I thank God for coming across this thread on nairaland. I've read through and I just want to appreciate everyone for their guidance here in assisting each other in this U.S immigration path.
Please I will like guidance on how my family can go about this too.
We are in the F3 category (adult married daughter of a us citizen). My mother-in-law is the citizen while my wife is the daughter. We have a son who was 15yrs old and a daughter who was 13 yrs old at the time of filing in 2018 in Nigeria.
We got a letter from uscis last month that my wife's application is successful and the case is being transferred to NVC which they stated might take up to 30 to 60 days.
Please, I will appreciate it I can know what is the next step we should start preparing for, as me and my wife are presently working in U.K while the children are in university in Nigeria.
Thank you all.

Gud day Mr Ayodebola
F3 case has a limited in visa issuance the same apply to [F1 F4] even though USCIS approved your petition send it to NVC u will still wait for some years before ur case can be process at NVC, the next letter u will received from NVC will indicate that they have received ur Approved petition from USCIS within 2 months, they will let u know when they will start processing ur case. F3 and F4 visa case is longer than any other category if u want to calculate the time NVC will finish ur case it will take 8 years or more . Check the visa bulletin for this month F3 is still in April 2010 and ur priority date is 2018 as u said. So relax when it it ur turn NVC will send u a welcome letter to start processing ur case.
In my own case F4 USCIS approved my case in 2010 I received a welcome letter in December 2019 .

Thank you so much @bonawaja for the reply. I appreciate.
We will just keep living our lives, doing other stuffs till NVC is ready for us.
If I may ask, how is the CSPA calculated? Will this still cover our children who are now 21yrs and 19 yrs respectively if they didn't get married by the time NVC is ready for us?
Thank you.

I doubt think vCSPA will affect your children, and getting won't affect them. However I do not think their wives/husbands or children (your future grandchildren) can be added.

You know that Exhausted was not the main applicant the mother is the main applicant . People share here as they wish, there is no obligation.
What was eventually shared is way more than most people would do.

I also was told to bring more documents so it's not uncommon. Just provide what they asked for and your visa would be issued.

Thank you Taal17. But if I may clarify the bolded above. Do you mean that even if our children get married, they will still be eligible as dependent of an F3 with the exception of their spouses and children?
Also, does anyone know how this visa bulletin stuff move or is calculated as I can see that F3 is still in Feb 2010? Does that mean we still have about 8 years ( 2018 - 2010) to wait?
Thank you all and happy Sunday to everyone.

If ur children married before u get welcome letter they are Automatically out they will not be benefit of ur visa, they need to be single even though there age is more than 21 CSPA still cover them

I actually had to go back and check this and it seems that derivatives/dependents of applicants of F4 need to be unmarried to be eligible.

So unfortunately your children would need to be unmarried as at the time your interview.

Not gotten anything yet on CSPA

More than a year based on what people have shared here.for F categories
It's possible that IR categories might be one year or so

Thank you for this platform. My case is F3 priority date 22/4/2010. Became Documentarily qualified July 2024.

How long do I still need to wait for interview and are there any backlogs at Nigerian embassy presently since that my affect my interview date if my case becomes current anytime.

I think this is how you calculate the CSPA age, the number of years it took USCIS to approve the petition is the pending time. That is, how long is it from filing date to approval date. Therefore, the age of the child at visa availability minus the pending time will be the CSPA age (this value must be less than 21 years). This is why it is better a petition takes a longer time to be approved. And the child must remain single, until he/she gets to the US.

Wait for your PD to be current. They are currently at 01 Apr 10. After that, embassy will deal with NVC and select the batch to be called for interviews (depends on Lagos embassy's capacity and your DQ). Overall, the bulletin may start moving from October. There has been no movement since last July in most family-based categories. Finally, after you become current, you wait for like a month (my friend's experience) and you are scheduled for the interview (interview letter sent to you). You may start getting your passports valid and ready, attestation to births, police character reports etc.

There should be an APP for this.
