Team Nigeria🇳🇬 finished its outing at #Paris2024 #Olympics without winning a single medal.

Hannah Reuben was the last athlete left to salvage a medal for Nigeria, but she lost her second round fight in women's freestyle #wrestling 76kg, losing 5-2 (Victory by points) to Mongolia's Davaanasan Amar Enkh.

It has been a chastening Olympics for Nigerian Sports, the country's worst outing at the Olympics since London 2012.

The time to prepare for Los Angeles 2028 is now, not tomorrow.

It's clear our sports federations need correct reforms..seems many heading these Federations no really understand their job..they are just there to chop and believe insha'Allah in competitions to win...e no dey work that way..

Some will say Basketball tried because of D'Tigress outing...that will be terrible lie attributing the success of those ladies to the Federation, considering what we read about their planning and logistics..so, its more of the ladies determination to do their thing for themselves.

Going forward, we can pick positives from the way Minister of Sports responded to issues...he has been very active.

He will need to keep up this energy and touchlight all these Federations to ensure they do the right thing at the right time. For example, Athletes training allowances should be paid as at when due , so they can use it for Training..and not when they have reached competition

He has a lot to do...and the recent flashes shows the Minister can actually do it..if he wants to. He should give us good, efficient sports federations.

When the head is ROTTEN, why should anyone expect the other parts to function properly.

For the past 20 years, our performance at the Olympics has been terrible. This year however is beyond terrible! It's abysmal!

A whole Nigeria that is filled with talented individuals can't even boast of a single medal in an Olympic tournament. Tufia!

This country needs a RESET!

Our peers have left us behind China, India Brazil. They are the core of the BRICs nations.

Even the BRICs prefer Ethiopian to join them.

Now we hang around Pakistani, Lebanese and import terrorism from Afghanistan.

Niger, Mali and Bokina Faso are distancing themselves from us.

Nations are building new worlds for their generations, but we are sending our children back to ancient barbaric circumstances.

Poor funding leads to poor preparation and preparation leads to poor performance;

The athlete’s tried their best but unfortunately Nigeria happened to them,

can you imagine a cyclist representing Nigeria in Paris going to an Olympic Games without a common bicycle only for team Germany to come to her rescue?

Imagine competing with countries like USA and China where a gold medalist is compensated with well over $30k and over $70k respectively for wining a gold medal compared to $5k we are paying ours?

We need to wake up; because we are currently 200 years behind,
what a shame of irresponsible leadership
