That's what I was telling by brother when we were discussing. Even if Dangote is not perfect and perhaps has glaring case of monopoly or not or only him pocket Nigeria or not, this is not the time to drag him upanda. All the government need right now is to support that huge project and make it work. If things keep going the way it is, it will definitely stand as red flag to foreign investors and may scare them away. Plus if it works, the case of landing cost of petrol (transportating from Europe) might not even arise i.e, making petrol cost to reduce.

Anyone who keeps screaming monopoly in the case of Ibeto, have no single clue on how Economics and growing a countries GDP works. Ibeto was importing cement and re-bagging in Nigeria and Nigerian government then, wanted to to grow local industry so they banned the importation of cement. Please WHERE IS THE MONOPOLY IN THAT? Did Dangote also stopped Ibeto from producing the cement locally in Nigeria?? If Ibeto was allowed to continue till today, we would have been in more mess. Do you not know what Ibeto was using to import the cement? Lemme give you a hint “$$”.. price would have been worst that it is now. What is happening to our fuel sector now?? Tinubu and his family did a hostile buyout of Agip oil, along with 17 oil wells. He then mines the crude, take it to Malta, refine it and bring it back to Nigeria, and sell at premium and then still pay himself subsidy. Dangote refinery should be a thing of pride, but instead we are hung up on monopoly. Did Dangote stop anyone from building the refinery themselves Why is no one talking how Dangote crashed the price of diesel? Smh we are going to learn. Meanwhile price of fuel will soon reach 1,500, but that is not important, let’s hungup on the fact Dangote wants to monopolize the fuel sector

Every sector Dangote entered, he bosses it and blows out all competition via special privileges from the govt.

In the case of oil and gas, Buhari and cohorts had fronted Dangote to build the refinery so that majority of the govt revenue will be routed through that process.

That is the back-bone that Tinubu is trying to break.

The power players in the oil and gas industry will never allow Dangote to just come in gain control of the flow of major chunk of Nigeria's revenue. .

He will not win that battle. . The best Dangote can achieve is to compete with others, source his crude from abroad, or divest and sell the refinery.

Atiku should rest.

When Buhari rushed to commissiom the refinery, why were these not fine-tuned? And where was this useless Atiku then or is Atiku saying that Buhari is not a good parent? They hurriedly commissioned the refinery so Buhari could take credit for it when it wasn't ready but now want president Tinubu to do the run-around for them. Well Dangote refinery is a private business that govt shouldn't be involved in. Let him broker a deal with crude supplier or does he want subsidy too? I really want to know how much of Nigeria's treasury is floating Dangote.

Yeah! Grass is always greener on the other side when they are no longer in office. He looted Nigeria dry and still didn't achieve anything in the midst of plenty but have all kind of ideas now that the country is pinching coins and in debt to its eyeball. Did he suggest anything about governance to Obasanjo?

Tinubu should realize that he will be in Aso Rock for only 4 to 8 years. If he continues to sabotage the Nigerian economy, just to settle personal scores, a new Government can see the action as treason. He and Buhari may end up in prison.

Who is dragging him?

Has he ever spoken out for the oppressed?

I don't understand o.

Am not a VDM(very dark man) fan but Nigerians would rather speak up for VDM than dangote.
Nigerians would rather speak up for people who have spoken up for them in the past.

Am not moved by all these lamentation frm dangote o.

Even elumelu too.

The truth is that, things are not favouring them now and that's why they want public sympathy.

I wish them well, but am not about to drag myself into any billionaire issue because the end goal is their pockets.

Having foundations or donating vehicles to government doesn't move me.

If u have been speaking out against bad governance in the time past, we will definitely speak up for u.

We have used our crude as collateral for loans roughly speaking...so it is going to take years before dangote is able to get Nigerian crude.

At the end, all the noise is just smokescreen.

Who are your real leaders who are not concerned about Tinubu’s economic failures that is choking not just the masses but also industrialists like Dangote who are investing in our country to reduce the impact of APC’s pseudo progressive agenda of rice sharing to fight inflation.

How can Tinubu be so utterly useless like the P in psychology

If you think Dangote is doing all these in your interests then, you need to think again.

As a business man, he should compete, not looking for government advantage.

What do you do in your own life in the interests of others without being paid or otherwise compensated?

It’s foolish not to look for and take advantage when you can to improve your own business and career. Don’t you do that in your own personal life?

What is BUA doing? Not competing with Dangote? Not looking for government advantage? How much is BUA cement in your area now, one year after the promise below

Atiku should focus on his own failures before pointing fingers at others. Always playing the blame game while Nigerians continue to suffer. We need leaders who take responsibility, not ones who just make empty promises.

Please how exactly is he playing the blame game here?

What responsibility do you expect him to take on this matter that he has not taken?

How so? Did Dangote promise that PMS price will be reduced when he starts producing PMS? Heck, did he promise that he will even sell to Nigerians directly?

In case, you didn't know, we are playing into the hands of the Northern oligarchs and giving them the reins to control the country's economy for the next 50 years. Dangote is a front. Which can be easily weaponized.

It's never in our collective interests, my friend.

That's why we need to get other refineries up and functioning. I dont believe the president is trying to prevent a monopoly by dangote.

If that's what his efforts is geared towards, then give leverage to every local competitors in the emerging oil refinery industry .

What kills monopoly is free market policy for all players. Grant the same crude oil access you'll be giving to dangote to Bua and whoever wants to play in the industry.
