The last 3 or 4 judges have been from state high courts What happened to federal judges Are they incompetent or the state courts deal with more constitutional cases than them Fergie001, ziazi, ifnobeGod20 |

Kukutente23:Those days, we didn't use to have many FHCs, again, the biggest influence on promotion of Judges to higher Courts are Governors. These Govs see the Judges at the State level almost on weekly basis than a Federal Judge from his State posted to Zamfara or Jigawa. Kekere-Ekun is from a royal family, her dad died a few years ago at almost 100 years and he was one-time Mayor of Lagos.... Again, she is bold, her husband was nominated for CBN Gov in 2004 by Atiku at OBJ's behest and that was same year she was to be promoted to the Appeal Court. Uba side-stepped Atiku to OBJ to push for Soludo, the reason her nomination was in May but her swearing-in was September. 2 Likes |

fergie001:She's highly qualified though I don't think we've had a CJN that's boasts her CV since 1999 However, I still totally disagree with her Imo judgement. I hope it was a misnomer and not her norm If Govs are the one sponsoring most appellate court Judges, and most of us believe Govs are corrupt, then what is to be said of the judiciary they influence 1 Like |

Kukutente23:Not just the Appeal Court, even the Supreme Court, the Govs or President are the very major factors therein. At the Appeal Court level, every State is expected to have three, so most times these Govs spend resources to push anyone in based on whatever criteria they choose. It's not the first time nah, won't be the last either. Just recently, for Dongban-Mensem to be made PCA, then then Plateau Governor Lalong who hails from the same LGA as her, had to personally intervene. For Imo, the judgement was staringly unpopular but she just followed the exact ruling of the SC in Omoboriowo v Ajasin delivered in 1984 1 Like |

anonymous1759: It says a lot about your hypocrisy, two-facedness and lack of a moral compass that you can ignore obvious injustice, cheating and criminality just because you want to unfairly further the selfish interests of your godfather, his acolytes (of whom you may be one) and ethnicity over others! If you had even a single bone of fairness in your body, you’d look at the bigger picture and rightly ask why the position of CJN has been cornered by just the Yoruba and muslim north for the most part of Nigerias’ existence as a ‘independent’ country! Isn’t it obvious the entire system has been rigged in favour of the aforementioned groups to the exclusion of others….including the Igbo, the other ethnic group that makes up the 3rd leg on which Nigeria stands!? Even when a ‘outsider’ manages to avoid your scheming and becomes CJ, you plot to kick him out unceremoniously like we saw in the case of Onnoghen! Does Nigeria belong to just you Yoruba and muslim core north!? Na only una waka come!? 1 Like |

anonymous1759: You don't need to mind those people. I asked them, can we ever have an Igbo man among the justices that can rise to the top without any fraudulent or criminal charges against him or her? If yes, why not since 1999. Check an average Igbo lawyer, his own is to make money whether the brief is ok or not. As long as they worship Money, their plans anywhere they find themselves is just to make money. If you see an Igbo person with integrity ( not money driven) nowadays, then checked well, such a person did not grow up in Nigeria or was born by intermarried parents. This is a serious big problems of that tribe. Some of Them make money by attacking Tinubu and his government,no matter how good or bad. 6 Likes 1 Share |

phemray: Just look at the bolded part of your rant! That’s your ‘informed’ analysis of the situation and why you think no Igbo has been made CJN since….since….damn, i can’t even recollect when last a Igbo was CJN! Your hateful and bigoted ass will come up with any ‘excuse’, no matter how outlandish, unverified and conjectural, all in a bid to try and ‘justify’ your crass greed, hypocrisy and ethnic agenda! You’re disgusting! 1 Like |
