Hello everyone.

About the documents required for German Visa, they asked for school reports from primary and secondary school or WAEC certificate.

But I do not have my primary school reports and I only have NECO certificate.

Can I use NECO certificate for the application?

I know a lady that got it April this year. That's what she used for CAT A. It's a no brainer. Nigerians do get it. The only hurdle is the requirements which is peculiar to the university. Some are heavy on transcripts from that school, while others use your previous academic and social merits.
Maybe another scholarship, that is not Deutschland stipend, that stipend can’t cover expenses. Is not upto block account. Maybe you are talking about DAAD scholarship.

Lol, embassy only asks you to block the deficient. DAAD is not applied in schools. Please make research always. Don't let opportunities like this pass you

I know what I am telling you, I already have permanent residency in Germany and I pass through school, Deutschland stipend is 300€ per month and is given mostly for 1 year, it will definitely not get someone Germany student visa in home country because the stipend is not reliable, they can cut it after 1 year.

You mentioned that the embassy will ask the person to block the remaining and that is understandable because I know that the stipend can’t cover student expenses for a month.

That's how it has always been. Since the days when BA was €8000. We only blocked €4400 as of then, and it was just 1.6m Naira at the time. God will punish Tinubu and Buhari

I think it each school varies but the average for most schools it's 2.5 which is about 3.0 in Nigerian grading system. However going for a bachelor's will Def work.

Do you mean, I can only apply for a bachelors with this grade and not a Master's program?

Well, the embassy didnt stay that the scholarship must be a fully funded scholarship. People have gone with half scholarships and fully blocked account. They did through category A by the way.

Hi guys , pls what is the waiting period for category B? And if a Germany citizen is ready to sponsor you does that make you qualify for category A?

Which category do undergraduate fall into?

For Cat B people the last date so far is 5th September 2022. And for the past 4-5 weeks now, they've not given AD to Category B people.

Please! What about CAT D people? ( Ausbildung)

After calculating mine with this formula, what I have is a 2.8. Is this good to go for an admission?

Most Schools accept 2.3 - 2.5 though, have seen 2.8 but very rare

Currently, waiting period is over 22 months.

Hello mates,
I need advice. I reside in the UK and I am currently on student visa. My program will be ending soon and I will like to do either a masters degree program or a bachelor degree in Germany.
My b.sc GPA is 3.45 and I don't know if I can secure admission in any government schools in Germany for a masters degree program.
I need advice please.

let me assume the two scenarios.

1. The minimum passing grade at your university is 1.0/5.0. with this , your German CGPA will be 2.1
2. The minimum is 1.5, which means your CGPA will be 2.3.

These grades are good to get admitted for MSc, as entry requirements are averagely 2.5(1.0 is the highest CGPA using German scale)

Use the link below to search for masters programs. Don't waste time on bachelors. You'll find a lot of schools that offer English based MSC, and semester is around €340 for most public schools

Please, I need some guidance on how to go about the application procedure
What is the role of uni-assist in the application process.
Is it compulsory I apply through uni-assist?

I applied on June 20 through CAT A and got my appointment date the next day. I did my interview on July 16th, so it has been almost 4 weeks now and I haven't heard anything from the embassy. Is there anyone that had their interview recently and have heard from the embassy? If yes, how long did it take.

You need to make your own research. Applications to Germany universities is very straightforward.

Look for courses you want from the list on that website I sent earlier, then check if your school needs Uni-assist application or it's done directly.

For Uni-assist, the first application is €75, while subsequent applications cost €30. All you need is to apply with required documents. It's not hard. Take your time

DAAD takes just 3 weeks. Ask him/her to mail the embassy. I hope the person filled in the right address, because that's what they'll use to send the stamped passport via courier.

Bro, please tomorrow will make it 3 weeks after the interview. Which email address should I address the mail to? Thanks

Search for he Auslanderbehorde of the city you're going to and copy the email address then send an inquiry. You can as well send it to the Lagos and Abuja consulate and embassy respectively.

Just chill, you're in category A. It will surly come soonest

Let me break it down for you.

You have two options.

BA(Block account) - open an account with a provider or bank in Germany, then send €11,208(€11,900 from September). You'll not have access to this Money until you're in Germany and have your residence permit.

The bank or provider will now give you access to €934 from that money every month.

Option two is to get a sponsorship letter from someone resident in Germany

I'd appreciate if I can get your feedback. My appointment is next monday and I intended to use a sponsorship letter. My host has applied but is yet to get an appointment at the foreign office so I don't have it. He's suggesting I go along with a retinue of documents showing his income, mails and all other documents he's exchanged with the foreign office and explain to the VO

I'm not totally convinced about this because the consulate is not the foreign office and besides, there are many others in the same situation. I also don't want a rejection as this can affect my future applications.

Should I risk it or just pass and apply for another interview date?
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Kirssey: 11:24pm On Aug 12
Which category did you apply with

If its CAT A, then just cancel and reapply but if it is CAT B, then go to the embassy and explain to them. They may give you another date to come back. I know someone who was in a similar situation that was given another date after 9 months. But its better as opposed to waiting for 24 months for another appointment.

Your uncle can also go to the foreign office in his city and plead with them. That is what my aunt did and she was given an appointment the next day

Thanks for the feedback. It's Cat B but I'm applying from Europe. The wait time is about 4 months. I wouldn't want to push him but I'd talk to him about it.
Since the best I can get is a rescheduled AD, I'd just wait it out and reapply.

I realized many others are caught up in the same situation as well. There's longer delays to get appointments at the foreign office. I guess the application traffic is pretty high.

Here's a trick for sponsorship letter. It's usually difficult to get a date that is close. In this month of August, you might only see dates in November. So, you can help your sponsor to check dates on days he doesn't have to be in the office BTW 8am to 10am, free slots will pop-up for that day. So, he has to be ready to go that day. Goodluck
