Can you share some insight on this sir. Thanks in advance.

Just reduced their debt to less than N2 billion, BUA Cement has debt of about N700 billion, Dangote Cement has debt of N1.6 Trillion.

Currently has the highest Return On Invested Capital in the industry.

A whooping N33 billion was used to pay down debt in Q2. This won't happen in Q3 and Q4 therefore there will be more money for shareholders

Do you have figures to back that. Although I still expect banking stocks to lose 15% to 20% in the next 9 months. Due to the current capital raising exercise in the sector.

My opinion though

But operating profit increased from N52 billion to N79 bullion.

It was the finance cost of over N30 billion which reduced the profit after tax from N35 billion to N29 billion

The only potential risk for Oando is being delisted; otherwise, there's no cause for concern. The Okpai power plant alone justifies a valuation well above 40 Naira per share, and that doesn't even take into account their oil and gas assets

I entered @ 12 naira ...but we don build tent here ....na who get mind go last.

WAPCO needs to pay more than 2 naira in dividends if it wants its stock price to soar. The current 2 naira dividend places it in the 26 to 50 naira price bracket.

I don't have any evidence to back up my claim, only Monte Carlo simulations.

Meristem, Vetiva, afrinvest, Ucap and futureview are all recommending a buy for Wapco this week.

Infact make I go top up. Their H1 result didnt look fantastic but your insight on their debt repayment makes sense,

Made EPS of N1.88k in H1, N33 billion was used to pay debt in Q2. That is equivalent to EPS of N2.00 used to service loan.

Since they are done working for the banks, I am expecting a full year EPS of about N5.70k.

With a debt of N1.6 Trillion by Dangote cement at 20%, that will be about N320 billion that would be used as inteest expenses.

With debt of N700 billion by BUA at 20%, that will be about N140 billion that would be paid to banks instead of shareholders.

By the way interest rate is currently at 25% and both banks don't have a ROIC of over 25%

He is the Chairman of Okomu Oil, he was chairman of Access Bank and was a non executive director at MTN

You mean both Dangote Cement and BUA Cement? This is part of what made me run from Dangote Sugar. If I had bought most of it below 18 naira, I would have tried my luck, but at the price I bought it, I don't want to take risks since I was doing long-term investment. Banks currently lend at 25%; a company's Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) needs to be above that before considering shareholders' gain, and it's worse when equity is negative.

Anyway, I'm deviating from our main discussion, which is WAPCO. If WAPCO is able to pay 3 naira in dividends, then my valuation would move to the 41 to 82 naira range.

Return on Invested Capital gives a better picture of the company compared to Return on Equity.

Because ROIC will divide the Net Operating Profit After Tax by the Invested Capital ( equity +short and long term debts)
