A minister that is not focusing on solar farm installations and manufacturing is destination failure just like Fashola. We have sun reserve I don't know why I am saying what we already know.

You also have abundant gas. Why focus on solar when you don’t produce any of the materials for solar…because Oyinbo man says so?

Gas powers night and day, solar only powers during the day. Or you want it import batteries too and export more jobs abroad?

Very low targets, small thinkers

The 6,000 mw is a milestone for 2024, not a target.

The target is 25,000 megawatts, and the Siemens transmission upgrade is ongoing to achieve that.

My comment is about failure of leadership as far as power is concerned, whether at the state or federal level. They're all culpable. Bleep off dumb ass.

People are talking about 25,000 mw not even meeting up their power needs and you're here celebrating mediocrity

I won't blame you, you're obviously one of those paid bots

More useless propaganda served for timid waste bustads. They will jump up and down celebrating this stupid news that will never materialise. and Tinubu will keep giving them such Hopes till his leaves office and another APC comes in again to fool these Yoruba muslims.

Una no dey shame? Always behaving like power generation is rocket science.

Una never ready to give Nigerians 24/7 clean electricity.

I never knew that someone can stay years without light blinking till I came to the United States. Power outages in Nigeria made me believe it's like that in other countries.

Nigeria is a funny country

6000 megawatrs of lies and propaganda grin

You know how they roll in the A-looter Propaganda Congress, APC of progreThieves masquerading as progressive socialists.

Are we supposed to believe this when they failed to deliver on their promises of 2015 change

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO) on Sunday promised to provide Nigerians with 20,000 megawatts (mw) of electricity within the first four years it takes over governance at the federal level. It maintained that its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) will improve the nation’s power situation significantly, if elected.

The proposed 20,000mw of electricity to be generated by the party in four years time will surpass Nigeria’s present consumption rate of around 15,000mw, the party had said.

Disclosing this in a statement issued by its spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu, APCPCO expressed disappointment that the federal government under President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration has only succeeded in adding 1.400mw to the national grid in four years.

No lies, power supply has improved. Kudos!

If the improvement is not up to the uninterrupted level promised by Fashola and his APC geng, then is your kudos not a misplaced desire to be afflicted with Stockholm syndrome of the Stalin type

July 12, 2014

While responding to various questions from the audience, he said electricity crisis in the country was as a result of lack of ideas and insincerity of purpose on the part of the Federal Government.

“I agree that it is possible to generate electricity and to make sure that everybody in this country has electricity. I agree with you it is simple with what we have done in Lagos within the areas where we are constrained showed that it can be done. But the only way you and I will have electricity in this country is to vote out the PDP.”

Best minister of power since 1999

Best noisemaker of power since 1999 you mean to say?

Ariwo kọ ní music gẹgẹbi propaganda ṣe yatọ si proper agenda governance outcomes.

bvibesblogger:
The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has on Wednesday publicly declared that Nigerian Ministers are noise makers, adding that the civil servants are the ones that do most of the work.

The President made the declaration while speaking during an interview with French television station, France 24.

When asked if the absence of a finance minister was affecting the Nigerian capital market and economy.

Buhari said, ”No. It is what we know –and which we learnt from the western system. The civil service provides the continuity, the technocrat. And in any case, they are those that do most of the work. The ministers are there, I think, to make a lot of noise; for the politicians to make a lot of noise. But the work is being done by the technocrats. They are there; they have to provide the continuity, dig into the records and then guide us, [those of us] who are just coming in.

”They have been there, some of them for 15 years, some for 20 years. So I think this question of ministers is political. People from different constituencies want to see their people directly in government, and see what they can get out of it.

”As for the cabinet, I said we will have one by the end of the month, and time flies. The end of the month is coming too quickly for my liking. Yeah, I will stick to it. I will send the names to the national assembly.”
