We have a new alternative to palm oil for the manufacture of soap, margarine, body cream etc. And the forward looking ROIC of 65% by the company is too poor

Random question here. What determines who is placed as a chairman of a listed company e.g. Lafrage, Presco, MTN, e.t.c. would this be the largest shareholder, or maybe 'one' of the largest shareholders who gets voted up? Thanks!

Lol.i don't have to tell anybody if I have sold my oando or not when I no borrow money from the person buy.You have been posting about gtbank since you sold and I have not seen it crash. If anyone wants to make investment decisions like the way sheep behaves...follow follow..It is his business. It won't stop me from posting my opinion. You dont llike it you go consult financial adviser. To buy hold or sell is not my business and adds no value to my investment.
I will still post tomorrow and DD will not be advised

Why hasn't anyone convinced you to buy since you started relaxing with your gari..lol.

The essence of this platform is also to compare investment thesis. People exchange ideas and views about a stock. What has changed about your view on Oando that made you say e don cast.

You won't say you have not benefited from others on this platform. Nobody knows it all, we gather information from this group and from other sources.

People are not pleased with you because of that your comment, it has nothing to do with full offer or not.

We will ride Oando till 100 naira.

Go back to all the comments after I posted. And show me whr any was ready to engage based on the reason of my post.It was all I have sold and want to de market oando. They should come and force me to know my decision. The reason I bought oando is still thr and even getting stronger by recent events since you are the only one that has asked .And if you can read in-between my post .You should be able to make correct judgement on my decision on oando stock. My post was because of reaction when oando appeared on offer side today
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Pesuzok(m): 10:25pm On Aug 13
brotherly:
The only potential risk for Oando is being delisted; otherwise, there's no cause for concern. The Okpai power plant alone justifies a valuation well above 40 Naira per share, and that doesn't even take into account their oil and gas assets

I entered @ 12 naira ...but we don build tent here ....na who get mind go last.

I also mentioned it here yesterday, and that is also part of my SA for now pending when they translate into FA. We all compare views, but it's wrong when someone feels that nobody does any DD and we are all bottle fed.

Shout out to people like Bagwa and customstreet.

I follow the stocks on the radar of some of the big stockbroking that have a strong research team.

I remember sending a mail to the research team of Meristem about 3 years ago on why United Capital was not on their radar.

I gave my reasons on why they needed to research into the stock.

Four months after, United Capital was on their radar and became one of their stock picks.

OANDO
Hope we could all see the category and the set of indigenous Upstream Exploration and Oil Drilling majors that this Company is being compared side by side with (ARADEL, SEPLAT, TOTAL), it's now left for individuals to carry out DD and make decisions.

Find attached the statement of the financial position of the 3 cement manufactureres in Nigeria.

Dangote cement with equity of over N2 Trillion , should have a full year Net Operating Profit after Tax of N900 billion, but debt of about N1.6 Trillion

BUA with equity of over N400 billion , should have a full year Net Operating Profit After Tax of about N160 billion but debt of about N700 billion

Lafarge with equity of over N400 billion, should have a full year Net Operating Profit After Tax of about N120 billion but debt of N1.7 billion or roughly N2 billion

Total debt is equivalent to about 76% of Dangote cement equity.

Net Operating Profit After Tax can liquidate the debt in less than 2 years, assuming the company won't pay dividends for those years

Total debt is equivalent to about 170% of BUA cement equity.

Net Operating Profit After Tax will liquidate the debt in 4 years 4 months assuming the company won't pay dividends for those years.

I am of the opinion that total debt should not exceed either be 50% of equity or twice the Net Operating Profit After Tax

For Lafarge total debt is less than 1% of the equity

Most of these companies run on debt, which has been a source of funding for a long time and did not start today. The question is whether these long-term debts will be subject to the new interest rates. I think we should focus more on what they pay as interest and what is left for shareholders afterward. In Nigeria, it seems debt is not a huge problem as long as there are positive cash flows and also positive FCF.

What can we infer from this that means at 25% interest rate Dangote cement interest expenses will be about N400 billion based on debt of N1.6 Trillion from the projected N900 billion Net Operating Profit After Tax.

For BUA cement at 25% based on the debt of N700 billion, about N175 billion will be used as interest expenses from the projected N160 billion Net Operating Profit After Tax.

Interest rates have been reviewed.

I just did an analysis of the expected interest expenses based on the NOPAT for the year. Most times NOPAT is usually higher than FCF.

Based on the H1 result you can calculate the Return on Invested Capital and Cash Return On Invested Capital. You will divide the FCF by the invested capital to get CROIC
