Truck drivers are number one reckless drivers in Nigeria. Imagine one man killing 25 innocent souls at a spot. He should be arrested and prosecuted. |

Many of the vehicles plying our roads today are in very shape due to little or no maintenance, coupled by the fact that a lot of them were bought second hand. |

Father4all: That portion is actually the worst part along the ojoo - iwo rd exp way. It's actually a one way drive as the other lane is closed to traffic. The worst part is that the contractor handling the road has actually abandoned the project with the iwo rd - ojoo lane was closed from iyana bodija down to ojoo. Do commuters have no other option that to drive one way that is full of pot holes. I really pity commercial drivers plying that route daily, their vehicle shock absorbers are all gone due to severity of the road. |

- brakes never checked. I've nearly been involved in an accident inside a 10-tonne capacity truck before. Why? The brake had failed since leaving Lagos, but the killer driver decided to manage it to Ogun state ( of course he picked me up on the way). This man was drunk, stupid, wicked and evil. We had to hit a sandberg on a sloppy road. That day, I would I died. I had to call his oga, and told him, never to send that guy to me again. - fake tyres:- inflation is making our ppl to buy fake tyres, often sold by evil traders. - the vehicle inspection guys looking only for bribes and extortion. Those wicked VIO and Lastma guys. |

Love800:Insurance is a mechanism of transferring risk to another usually a coy. For instance in this case, the truck itself could have been insured against 3rd parties damage, own damage death and theft. Meaning, the insurance company will pay to a certain and agreed limit for all the other persons' properties and vehicles damaged through this accident, they will also repair the truck itself and if the truck is stolen, insurance company will replace it. Also, the truck owner or the owners of the items being transported could also have insured the items through 'Goods in Transit' GIT insurance. This covers the items being transported incase of theft, accidental damage. Insurance is wide and virtually everything on earth can be insured subject to conditions and terms. |
