Kemetian: You are the one that is slow here. They are saying the facts. For this year targeting 6K MW for Nigeria is a poor milestone performance for a country as big as Nigeria. |
Re: FG Targets Generation Of 6,000 Megawatts Power Before 2025 – Minister by Believeintruth: 4:55am On Aug 14 |
Haaland21: No it not about bitterness. 6K MW is a poor milestone. 8,000 MW yearly should be the minimum standard if we are serious about power. |

I must personally commend Adebayo Adelabu. Minister of Power. Himself and Dele Alake are the most improved Ministers in the Tinubu led Administration Second Quarter of 2024 (Q2). Power supply where I live in Lagos has never been this good in the over 20 years I have lived here. Power supply daily is above 18 hours and it is consistent, predictable and stable. Kudos to Adebayo Adelabu his performance and efforts are commendable. 1 Like |

anonimi:Bros, calm down. I know you're fixated on seeing negatives and nothing but the negatives, there's nothing I can do to that. It's your personal issue and only you can solve that. However, if there's an improvement I must say it, I never said power supply is the best now but there's an improvement. If you don't see it or experience it, it's on you not me. Have a lovely day! |

Are they not tired of using this word target?. The government and Nigerians are not serious. Simple truth!. |

These are iđiots that said that in other for us to have light in 6 months Jona should be kicked out, this is more than 10 years now, they are still laying more eggs of lies. Their colonies of ïmbecilès are still clapping for them, what a beautiful shithole we are in. |

A government of lies, propaganda, deceit, and poor performance. How can you claim to have met a lesser power production when the Nation had overall a better power supply during the Buhari-led government? Instead of channeling their energy towards making the less expensive but more effective solar power plants, they are here lying to Nigerians |

vanbonattel:is it not time for our leaders to ask themselves this soul searching question, why is it that what works in other countries don't work in Nigeria? Egypt is currently building the El dabaa power plant that when finished in 2030 will have 4 turbines that will generate 1,2 gigawatts of power or 4,8 GW total, despite the current production capacity of 55,000 megawatts, our so called leaders are not ashamed to project 6000 megawatts for a country of 200 million souls,I will be embarrassed to come out publicly to say such thing,so long as merit, competence and ability are sacrificed on the altars of mediocrity Nigeria will forever remain a bumbling laughing stock in the league of nations 1 Like |

slimfit1: 1. Due to insecurity in the country, solar farms will not work in Nigeria. Even a 2-man bandit can bring down a solar farm with ease. 2. A solar farm needs to be relatively efficient to be profitable. Our environmental conditions are not best for solar farms. The field will be difficult to maintain in the South. In many parts of the North, dust will be a problem. 3. The sun is often too hot in many parts of Nigeria for an efficient solar farm. People also don't realise that in the South, we experience more cloudy days than many parts of the US, India etc Since late June, we have had so many cloudy days. September is usually the most cloudy month . So that will be over 3 months without consistent sunshine. 4. Government can't manage solar farms in Nigeria due to corruption. It should be left to private investors. But no investor will put his money into solar farms because it will not be profitable. What the government should be doing is making it easier for people to buy and install solar in their houses. There should be zero import duty on solar panels. More technicians should be trained to install solar. 1 Like |

Believeintruth: From 1960-2023: Nigeria generated around 3000MW. 2024: Nigeria is currently at 5000MW and if we reach 6000MW by Dec,2024 it is a great improvement. If we continue on that trajectory, the future looks brighter. 1 Like |

Baba gas power plant is cheaper and faster to construct and can generate large amounts of power compare to solar, we have abundance of gas in Nigeria this should be our primary source of power it is even cleaner than coal, do you know that most develop country still uses coal anonimi: |

Lithiumite: You are so ignorant or you are not well informed so I can't argue with you. I've seen solar farms in a place that only has 3 to 4 hours of sun light you foolish animal. My cousin install solar panels in Holland you fool. China and Egypt are using solar farms, I work for an energy company so don't come and say something you don't know. Do you know how many jobs that will create alone. Because US are not using it so for that reason we should stay in darkness. See stay away from me. Don't like people that think like monkeys responding to my comments. |

Nigeria is a very power country, when you compare our yearly budget in dolar to other African countries you know that we are a very poor country , also compare our earnings in dollars with other African countries, Egypt is far richer than Nigeria because their economy is more diverse, do you know how much they make from tourism alone slowice: |

No country in the world generate even half of its power from solar so baba chill gas is more feasible if we are to atain energy sufficiency slimfit1: |

Re: FG Targets Generation Of 6,000 Megawatts Power Before 2025 – Minister by DeLaRue: 7:36am On Aug 14 |
slowice: You can't ignore the fact that Nigeria doesn't have the money. 10000 megawatts in Nigeria will cost 3 or 4 times more than it cost in Egypt, due to corruption. Also Egypt receives hundreds of millions of dollars from the US every year. And receives large grants from the EU. It also gets easy access to billions in investment money and cheap loans from Saudi Arabia, UAE etc Nigeria doesn't have these. That said, even if Nigeria has the money, fraud and vested interests will sabotage any effort to increase generation by 10000 megawatts in 2 years. 3 Likes |

DeLaRue: You people don't think of anything rather than import do you? So people making them and creating jobs for their people have 2 heads, there are machines that do the cleaning my guy please do a research those disadvantages you mentioned don't exist anymore. I've seen it work in country with 3 hours of sunlight it doesn't need that much sunlight to work the technology has improved significantly. |

Even if you use the entire ekiti state as land for solar it can't generate more than 5000megawatt whereas a single gas plant can generate more than that slimfit1: |

Kemetian: I don't know you so I wouldn't be able to know how old you are,but if at my age and a target is still being mentioned like you said(after so many several target mentioned since I know of) then you will know HOW UNFORTUNATE YOU ARE for mentioning me. Also if you try and separate government regime from one another while providing your point, then it will further stamp how DUMB you've been for even attempting to engage me. You may be a politician or their agents but please don't ever mention me again! |

slimfit1: Hope u got lots of energy......go check REA Nigeria and see how many solar projects they alone are handling not to talk off other govt agencies.....Katsina alone has one of the largest wind energy farms in Africa when completed. Go read your initial post and see how uninformed you sound.those countries u mentioned do not have only solar as their primary source of power.....no govt would encourage that. |
