A big thank you to everyone on here. My sister's visa just got approved on our second attempt. We submitted June 28th, sent webform a few times on Sunday, and PPR dropped today! We all did this together, once again, a big thank you to everyone!
P.S. The first refusal was due to lack of family ties and financial issues. This time around, we used our parents as family ties and as far as the financial part is concerned, we made a big mistake of using an ordinary investment slip as POF, GCMS note came back and it was noted that the investment certificate was given "less weight" because it wasn't from a commercial bank. We deposited a huge amount into her account, and supported it with some docs and the rest naa story...
Hurray!!!Congratulations.

Hello house,

Please this is urgent.

The program I applied for is only offered in September intake. I have applied for my visa but the way things are going, I don't think the visa will be out and I make it to Canada before Sep 3.
My question is, if I should defer the admission and apply to a different course offered by the same college for January intake, do I need to apply for another visa since its a different program but in same college.
Also, the program deferral deadline is 20th of August.

I am honestly very confused and disoriented.

Please someone should answer me.

Also please is there a number I can use to call IRCC

Please guys, someone should help me out

Just a few questions

1. How much was the school fees?
2. How many years was the course for?
3. How much was the POF provided on the initial certificate and the subsequent adjustment?

Thank you

We paid the full tuition $20k.
A one-year postgraduate diploma + 1 year PGWP.
We had 30m on the initial certificate but the rejection wasn't about the figure, it was because the investment slip came from a non-commercial bank. We ended up depositing 30m into her account.

1. No, She won’t need PAL as the rules doesn’t apply to her, She got her visa before they implement the PAL.
2. Yes, you will be able to renew it.
3. Yes, Both of you will have to redo another medical before traveling, update the medical slip to IRCC and have in handy when traveling.

All th best.

Your sister will need PAL and if her program is not a masters, you wont be able to get another SWOP because she deferred her start date for more than 150 days.
IRCC law states that any deferring that exceeds 150 (one semester) the students current visa wont be valid for studies again and a new student visa application will be required and any current visa condition will apply.

To apply for the PR caregiver program, you don’t have to be a nurse or have an education in healthcare. The minimum education requirement is secondary school. Note that a job offer from an employer in Canada is required to apply.
I disagree with you that PSW does not warrant travelling abroad for studies. We have had success with PSW applicants. You can argue that a PSW from the school will enrich you with adequate and informed knowledge, which will be revered in Nigeria and help you attain an enviable position. However, applying for PSW with nursing credentials will make the officer scrutinize her purpose of visit, as PSW appears redundant concerning her nursing credentials. Someone working in a healthcare facility without a related education would be an ideal candidate for PSW.
You cannot accompany your wife as a worker if she goes for PSW.

Please bro check your mail, I'll like to know more about this

I submitted my student permit application on June 26, but I haven't received any updates from IRCC yet. My program is set to start on August 26, and unfortunately, my college does not allow deferrals, so I'm getting anxious about the delay.

Is anyone else experiencing a similar delay with their student permit application?

Please house, I need urgent help here.

The program I applied for only has September intake and last day of deferral is 20th of this month and I am yet to hear from IRCC. My school is advising that I should defer and request LOA for a different program that is available for September intake.

My question is, if I do how do I relate this to ircc and do I have to apply for another visa? And if not, when I send the new LOA to ircc, do I need to write a new SOP?

Thanks for your input, like I said she is a niece. She doesn't need any one to accompany her to.

So it means she will have to conceal her Nurse or Midwifery certificate to apply for PSW. I don't know the future impacts of that.
