We Are Taking Actions On Simon Ekpa’s Case, Finnish Govt Confirms

The Finnish Government has disclosed that it is taking action in the case of pro-Biafran agitator, Simon Ekpa, over his secession activities with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the South-East of Nigeria.

Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen, made the disclosure in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, during a press conference she addressed alongside her Nordic counterparts on Tuesday.

According to her, the case of Ekpa whose activities were reported to the Finnish government by the Nigerian government, is now before Finnish courts.

Self-proclaimed Biafra Prime Minister Ekpa has been a strong proponent of sit-at-home directives in the South Eastern states despite the mainstream leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, suspending the exercise.

In February 2023 days before the presidential and national assembly elections, Ekpa was arrested in Finland where he resides after threatening that the elections would not be held in the South-East.

Ekpa was arrested by the police in his residence in the Lahti area of the country, a Finnish paper Helsingin Sanomat had reported.

The separatist repeatedly declared that there would be no elections in the Southeast region of the country and insisted on the observance of a sit-at-home every Monday in the area to protest the detention of the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu.

IPOB, however, distanced itself from the Finland-based Ekpa who was reportedly billed for an interview before his arrest.

He was later released and has since been very active on social media where he posts his pro-Biafran messages.

Valtonen was part of a delegation of Nordic Ministers including Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Norway, as well as Denmark who visited Nigeria to deepen trade ties between the countries.

The ministers noted that countering violent extremists in West Africa and achieving sustainable development goals is among the areas of special focus.

The Nordic ministers who are looking to crystallize relations on the African continent continue their two-day trip in Ghana.

Abeg, let that guy come back and face the government and answer to all the crimes he's been committing.... The lives he's claimed so far.

How can a group of people who develop people's state not be reasonable enough to think but take directives from someone very far from them.?

Ekpa will not like himself in kirikiri.

Finland courts will never extradite Ekpa .

That once conservative nation is now fully woke .

The FG may have to explore extra-rendition options .

Let me wait here and see it play out.

Modified.. why's Nigerian government fighting Simon epkas separatist movement,l?? I think they should rather support him and Push Igbo people out of their Nigeria. They claim Igbos are tarnishing the image of Nigeria and has accused Igbos of the following.....
Igbos are dominating....
Igbos are buying up our land...
Igbos are ungrateful...

We must teach Igbos lessons...
Igbos must go.....

To put an end to all this rubbish while not support nnamdi kanu and Simon epka to conduct referendum, so that Igbos will go away with troubles.

Another waste of time.

Recruit hit men, let them fly into Finland and take that Ekperima out.

When will 9ja government have sense and learn from Israel?

Ekpa should never be extradited to Nigeria. He should be taken out, burnt to ashes and dispose in the ocean. The news of his assasination should be kept a secret for the next 50 years.

A man who repeatedly called for violence, killings of Nigerians, a man who repeatedly acknowledged to be the mastermind of senseless killings in the SE. You must be joking for thinking he would get out of it.

If the action Finland is taking is to charge Ekpa to court in Finland, is it easy to get evidence of his violent crimes in Nigeria?

They wont use those things he's posting on social media in foreign court because its not going to be sufficient to lock him up there. Or they plan to deport him to Nigeria
Getting evidence against Ekpa is the easiest of all things, if Finland government don't have hands in his madness.
