Common sense is indeed not common!

It is common sense enough to know that APC is nothing but a curse upon Nigeria.

Politics aside, after the whole election brouhaha, APC is the greatest calamity and disaster to befall the common man hustling legitimately on the streets of Nigeria.
Hausa,Igbo,Yoruba agree only APC headless mob of uneducated happy slaves think otherwise.

Wow...it's interesting to hear a different opinion about the whole dangote/malta wahala.

Dangote is been emotionally because he's no longer the superstar. Like he said if he had contracts, he would've gone to court but he went to the press to cry. It's time to man up and face the big boys.

I think I like this guy's analysis. He is making senses. The thing is that Dangote has been pampered too much in Nigeria. So he felt he can get anything that he wants. in as much as we want the refinery to work, we must understand that things has to be done the way it should be

Including foreign ngo that try to bribe Hundeyin? I disagree

The foreing ngo that allegedly offered the guy money to write an article is an environmental lobby group.

They are set up to fight polluting industries. They sponsor writers across the globe to write articles against high pollution industries like refineries, chemical industries, coal firing industries etc

They sponsor articles against those industries whether the industries are in the US, China, Europe etc

They have nothing to do with any Nigerian cabal.

Kachikwu is right, we need to learn to separate #facts from #emotions.

I watched his interview yesterday, the guy was spewing facts and oozing sense from all pores.

You could see the Arise crew especially Rufai and that airhead Ayo were uncomfortable as it didn’t suit their narrative.

Why would the government sabotage Dangote when the success of his refinery is critical to the success of the administration? Without Dangote refinery helping to solve our forex problems, all the administrations recovery plans are in the mud. But like he said we have forward sold a lot of our crude and we cannot give what we do not have. He is also factually correct that Dangote acted like a novice (in reality he is a novice). You don’t establish a refinery of this magnitude without securing contracts for your feedstock.

I also like what he said, a promise/informal agreement is not a contract and other IOCS cannot break pre existing contracts because of you.

Ultimately this was schoolboy error on Dangote’s part. It can happen to anyone who is a novice in a new terrain.

This dumebi, is just a fool. No wonder Nigerian's take such character for granted when they contest under mushroom party. How can an importer will be a bigger player in the oil industry than a refinery owner of that magnitude. There is nothing hate will not bring. Most of the importers with refinery licences, couldn't build a lesser capacity over the years. He is so dumb and no wonder his name is dumebi. Is just like the biggest trader in alaba, who deals with electronics (buying n selling), will now become the bigger player of another man, who set up a manufacturing unit of the same product, been imported to the country by the trader. Shame to dumebi, the block head.

are you okay? One time opportunity to refine petroleum in your country, boost export & potentially sell petrol products at a reasonable price thereby reducing inflation & you’re capping emotion & facts nonsense. This man forgets that dangote is the only local refinery working and should receive government support. That's how it is done in most oil nations especially when starting out. They support their own not open it up to unfair competition.

Nobody said there aren't other or bigger players but dangote is ours and needs our support despite foreign and bigger players who are only making our fuel prices high so what are we doing? undecided

I am prepared to wager a bet that you did not even listen to the interview at all.

If you did, you would understand that emotions do not count for much in the world of complex Oil & Gas contracts.
As for your strawman argument about an electronic dealer in Alaba, it is just that - a strawman argument. cool

This is nothing but the truth.

Also feel for those Nigerians who are joining Dangote to fight against the FG in hopes that he might reduce PMS price. It's like the cement tussle with Ebeto didn't teach you guys anything.

A man who treats Nigerians as second-class citizens in their own country is not the kind you'd expect succour from all of a sudden.

Go ask anyone you know that works for him and takes the office bus to work, and you'll know how they're made to vacate their seats for foreigners, including Indians.

The Dumebi guy is a big fool. He spoke about everything except about our own National interest, about our own economy and the Nigerian people who are the real owners of the oil.
He started mentioning USA and big players who are bigger than Dangote, how does this concern or benefit the Nigerian people which is the only important part as far as I am concerned.
The same US that is always ready to go to war to keep oil supplies going?

They are all fooools. The guy made some critical points
1: we have pre sold most of our production
2: contracts for supply of crude are secured years in advance
3: Dangote was negligent in not securing supply contracts for his refinery in advance
4: IOCS cannot break existing contracts for Dangote
5: there really is t much the govt can do until production increases.

How do you expect people who are led by Kanu, Ekpa and Obi to 1) be able to read 2)have the intellect to reason?

The man mentioned Shell and Mobil as the bigger players. And he is correct.

At no point did he say local importers were bigger than Dangote as you have claimed.

Shell and Mobil who are the biggest crude oil exploration companies in Nigeria operate refineries around the world with combined capacity that exceed Dangote's. They need to supply their own refineries.

Shell and Mobil also operate filling stations across the world. Dangote doesn't operate any.

The two companies are also some of the biggest international crude oil sellers in the world. These are the power brokers in crude oil exploration, marketing and refining.

So, the man is correct. Shell is several times bigger than Dangote. So is Mobil.

These "big players" serves their home countries at the expense of Nigeria and at the expense of the Nigerian people.
What contracts? They are basically robbing us. Moreover, they wouldn't dare spill a gallon of oil in Europe or America but they destroyed the whole Niger Delta with oil spill.
Big players my foot.

When government policies were in his favour and other players were been downtrodden, nobody heard his voice but now that everyone was given a level playing ground, he's crying wolf.

Btw
Will he share the dividend of his refinery with government?

According to this man, Mr Dangote spent nearly 10 years building a refinery, but forgot to secure contracts for the very raw material the refinery needs to operate.

Very Nigerian.

We build power plants, announce to the world that we now have 10,000 megawatts capacity, only to remember at the last minute that, there is no gas to operate the plants. And so the power plant doesn't function for another 5 years

We are not the best at organisation and planning.
