Among the latter group is Nigeria. Among the former are the well run nations of the world that progressed after the second world war. It includes the nations that lost the war and some French and British colonized nations.
The US hegemony is however not a monopoly because it is counterbalanced by Russia and China especially.
As you trade in peace and are able to manage well or mismanage your piece of Earth’s surface, remember that one nation is paying out of pocket for security. That is the value the USA is adding to you as a human being. Unfortunately, leaders who are running down their countries are also free to do so.

This is distortion of history, there was no time islam was more successful than christians since Islam started 1440 yrs plus of existence. Christianity has remained the richest, most populous and most educated religion worldwide for long time. There has not been time in 1440 yrs plus that Islam overtook Christianity in riches and population worldwide, so where did most successful come from ?
