Good day everyone so I applied for Canada student visa last month got a reply yesterday and it was denied Due to insufficient funds and assets documents and they where not convinced that I will leave Canada at the end of my study I don’t know if it’s possible to appeal?

sir thank you for this number, thou eligibility has not started but please what does background check in progress mean.
Background check may have been completed but not updated yet, it doesn't take time..
It is the first step in the visa application even before reviewing any upfront medical or eligibility reviews.

You can't appeal a study visa denial. What you should do is request for your GCMS notes first. Use the decision for your refusal in your GCMS notes to put up a strong application and apply again. Or you can take them to court if you think this your denial wasn't judged fairly, but I won't advise you to go this route. I wish you all the best.

I did my upfront medicals on the 13th August, and less than 2hrs I received refusals notification….funny enough, my eligibility started same day….probably they want me to reapply sharply for approvals.

Although, I have ordered my GCMS note…and regardless of these, I will fire again before it comes out, I have no intention of deferring…I’ll write to the varsity that I will resume late.

I see, wish you all the best

Someone already explained the process like 4 days ago. Just go move backwards to 4 pages on the thread and I'm sure you'll see the info.

Which portal did you use. The old or the new portal? But I will advice you not to keep on sending them webform so that you don't annoy them.

The new portal. Does this affect processing time? On IRCC page, they advised to use the new portal except number of applicants are more than one. Did you read something about the new portal delaying processing time?

I only paid acceptance deposit of $250 CAD.

Note: I was granted a fully funded scholarship of about 30kCAD, as stated in the letter from the university, which was part of IRCC requirement for POF…although, I didn’t submit my personal bank statement….because according to IRPA a letter from the University should do.

Las las…dem still say insufficient funds and asset…come add inconsistency join.

I tire major…but I will fire again.

I was not born to give up, without putting up a fight.

Hi Harforlarbee,

Note that the University of Regina's deposit fee is $1,000 CAD, which is typically applied to tuition fees.

Wishing you good luck with your admission.

Hi everyone, please for those that used their bitcoin as proof of funds, how did they do it? How were they able to attach the details of the digital asset to their study permit document. I have someone that is in this situation and we are trying to attach his bitcoin to support his proof of funds but we don't know how to go about it.

Hello @somtorizm
Any update on your application?
I submitted on 26 June, I have got no update too and my program starts on 26 August.
What's the web link or email address for an urgent 48 hours response by IRCC? Thank you.

Sorry for the late reply. So since then no updates yet. But I did use two accounts statements for my visa application. UBA and FCMB. On the 30th of July I got a call from UBA for verification of statement. Then till then till this morning after submission of weekly webform. I also got a call from FCMB for the same verification of statement. Looks promising. Finger's cross. Goodnew is my school says there no deadline to differ. Thou school is starting 26august. But says it bad to start at mid term. Rather I should defer. Thou the next differ would be next fall 2025. I don't need that stress for now. So hopefully before the end of the month. I would know my grounds and decisions to make.

They also said I should differ early so I could get a space for the next program. But I believe all would work out.

Firstly, visit IRCC website to view the requirements for SP and the amount you will need, then try and go through this thread to see how people have done their applications, it will be difficult to embark on this journey without arming yourself with relevant information on how the process works.

Did your fully funded include living stipend, is it for masters or PhD, and what is the duration of the course?

What documents did you submit, maybe I can suggest for you, or maybe you can check the tread for Canadian student on scholarship, to know the necessary documents the submitted.

My program is for masters…The university didn’t state…what the scholarship entails in details, but from my calculations, it covers both tuition and living expenses.

Please, can you share the link on Canadian student on scholarship.
