A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Edo State, Prince Emmanuel Odigie has revealed alleged plans by the Presidency to rig the forthcoming Edo Governorship Election in favour of the APC Guber Candidate, Monday Okpebholo
He made this disclosure while being interviewed as a guest on the "The Morning Show" program of ARISE TV on Thursday, August 15th 2024
Prince Odigie who served as a Deputy Director General in the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council and currently member of the APC integrity group in Edo State, revealed that some forces in the Presidency including Vice President, Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Chief of Staff to President Tinubu, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila have perfected plans with some notable APC leaders in Edo State to rig the forthcoming September 21st Governorship Election in Edo State while President Tinubu will be on a disguised trip out of the country.
The APC Chieftain further alleged that there were plans by the APC led Federal government to deploy the Military and other security agencies to intimidate voters and pave way for manipulation of the elections.
"There is a plan by the APC and we know it. The Integrity group members are always in every meeting they hold.. There's a plan to use the vice President, Senate President and Femi Gbajabiamila to rig the election while the president will go on holidays. There is also a plan to use the police and DSS to intimidate the people we know all these things and too" He stated
He warned that Edo people in diaspora have also lodged Petitions in various international agencies cautioning against the planned rigging by APC, adding that President Tinubu must be careful not to allow some forces within the presidency to subvert the collective will of Edo people.
Responding to questions over his alleged anti party activities following his public show of support to PDP Candidate Asue Ighodalo, Prince Odigie insisted that he remains a bona fide member of the APC and loyal supporter of President Tinubu but he is supporting Asue Ighodalo to be Governor of Edo State because of his proven track record and desire to see Edo State grow.
"Asue Ighodalo is an international brand. Edo is blessed to have such a man leave all his jobs and offer himself to serve the people yet some politicians want to truncate the opportunity for Edo to grow. In 2016, Comrade Oshiomhole told us it was the blueprint that Obaseki and Asue Ighodalo gave him that he used to increase IGR in Edo from N600m to about N3 Billion" Odigie disclosed
He criticized Former Edo Governor and Senator representing Edo North Senatorial district, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for coming on TV to lie about a court Judgement that never existed inorder to mislead the public. He also took the Senator to the cleaners for supporting APC Governorship candidate Monday Okpebholo whom he described as a man that lacks the knowledge and experience to be Governor of Edo State.
"Adams Oshiomhole came and talked about a judgement that never existed on TV. Oshiomhole should wake up and smell the coffee. Edo people do not believe in him anymore. His days are over and he should allow a free and fair election" He said
He further stated that "In 2023, Oshiomhole made himself the face of the APC campaign in Edo State and we lost woefully to the extent that we couldn't even give Asiwaju Bola Tinubu 25% of votes cast. We also lost the House of Assembly elections to PDP. Today he has also made himself the face of the Governorship Campaigns in Edo State and APC's defeat is imminent"
Prince Odigie described Edo APC Governorship candidate Monday Okpebholo as a man who cannot read a balanced sheet and challenged him to appear before any TV station to speak to Edo people.
The worst thing that can happen to the people of Edo State is for them to allow APC and their governorship candidate, Okpebholo, to get hold of the Osadebey government house. It's going to be a catastrophe for them. A double tragedy

In the recent elections in South Africa, the people of that country saw, in real-time, as the votes were coming in and everybody could tell who was leading. There is no reason a similar thing cannot happen in Nigeria. Being the giant of Africa should not be in words alone; we can be the giant in practice too.
In the 2023 presidential election, I observed how a new demography of voters emerged in Nigeria and how their hopes were squashed. Young Nigerian people, who were the worst hit by bad governance, took their future into their own hands and were determined to vote in a new lease of political machination into our country.
These people’s hopes were dashed by INEC. One observed how on the Saturday of the presidential elections these young people came out in their numbers to vote, and when they observed the shenanigans of INEC, they completely lost hope in a Nigeria that could work.
The whole japa phenomenon was exacerbated by this reality. Many of them went on TikTok and tore their voters’ cards on live video. When the gubernatorial elections came, they simply did not come out to vote.
INEC had earlier indicated that a large percentage of new voters have come out to exercise their franchise. These young people came out because they believed INEC would do the right thing but they were thoroughly disappointed.
Edo has the most sensible, literate and wise citizens in Nigeria, they are smarter than any useless oloshi government and will prove again that "Edo no bi Lagos"

Arise is a biased pants on fire newsmedia otherwise they should had fat checked this Odigie that Tiny u did indeed score 25% in Edo and that Adams Oshiomole was d only APC leader in 2023 that could deliver his senatorial zone. Mr Odigie is from Edo Central or Edo South,as a member of Presidential Campaign Council, could you deliver your Senatorial district to APC? Could u deliver ur local govt? These are none entities that use d bitter ess of Arise TV to seek validity. He is not known in Edo politics

An international brand and can't brand his own senatorial district has various chairman he was. Okpeboho used is personal money to alleviate the sufferings of Edo central where also Asue hails from too. A former chairman of sterling bank and could not bring a single branch to his people. Okpeboho gave out thirty cars and over hundred motorcycles to the youth in his senatorial district, before venturing into politics, rehabilitated schools, donated sienna buses to the local vigilantes to support the state government. He also constructed a road. He understand the pains of the people. We don't vote for party and he will get the votes to become governor. Obaseki non performances and the disunity in pdp will give senator Okpeboho the edge.
If only you could read you would have seen that Peter Obi and LP did not claim they won the presidential elections in their petitions to the Presidential Election Petition Court. What peter Obi and LP was asking the Presidential Election Petition Court to do was to disqualify the APC presidential candidate bases on flimsy frivolous reasons
