NOTICE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2024.

The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission wishes to inform all registered Political Parties and the general public that Local Government Elections in the State will be held on Saturday September 28 2024.

Election Timetable/Schedule of Activities and other details can be collected from the headquarters of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, Awka, From Wednesday, 14th August 2024.

It definitely won't be different from all the other sham that are being conducted in all the other states in the name of “LG Elections”..

APGA will still carry the day in all the contested positions..
And we know the way naa..

(Serious rigging will still play itself out as usual...)

We won't even see the RULES for the elections,, neither are we even going to know the VENUES where the VOTINGS are going to be held...

BUT WE WILL DEFINITELY SEE RESULTS..!!
And the results will be telling us that a lot of us voted,, whereas we didn't even know that any election took place..

Now that the Most of the States in Nigeria are going to have their LG-Elections on the 28th of September 2024,, are there ways to have these elections tightly monitored.??

Especially to avoid rigging and manipulation of the results after the voting had been concluded.??

Thanks to Mr. President. Many of these states would never hold LG elections. Now that the threat of no money from FG is there, they are waking up. Et tu Soludo?

i'm just wondering how many people from other tribes can contest in this elections. Like can someone from Ebonyi or Cross Rivers or Kaduna become a LG chairman in Anambra? Is it a taboo? Will it be strongly resisted?
i understand that followers of Obi and Oby from Anambra are cool with anyone governing the South West and other regions. But i noticed that they frowned on a foreigner's merited input in the anthem. So i wonder loudly what side of hypocrisy they would take in this. cheesy

Can't the candidates at least have a record of legal action? It might take just one good case before a honest judge to resolve some hitherto unsolvable issues in Nigeria.

The first round of elections following the Supreme Court judgment will be like petrol used to wash a carburetor. We can't expect too much from this round, but the structural change over time will be good.

The constitution states that there should be 90 days notice before election.

Have you asked yourself why most of the State governors were not conducting LG elections? It was because the FG was releasing LG funds to governors, who in turn, pay the State and LG civil service. Conducting an LG election was considered a waste of time and resources, when zero activities take place in the LGs. The recent Supreme Court fiscal autonomy judgement for LGs will now make all LGs in the country to come alive.

None of the Candidates are even ready to do anything prosecute any of the outcomes..

They are not even ready request for the CTC’s of the results from their State’s Independent Electoral Commissions.

In-Fact,, which rules are guiding the conduct of the LG-Elections??
Is it the Electoral-Act-2022.??
Or some other Electoral Laws made by the States Houses of Assemblies.??

In a land filled with capable people, where there are many people available on ground and waiting to occupy any vacant positions,, it would be difficult for outsiders to fill the positions,, since the people on ground who are waiting are too many already..

My people used to tell this parable....
(I will tell it in English here,, no need for telling and translating..)

“In a town where there are no many bulls, the rams are always regarded as the strong animals in such a town”.

This means that, where there are bulls, the bulls do the strong things which the people see,, and nobody notices the rams any longer - even when they do their strong things - because the bulls have occupied the position for them. But where there are no bulls, the rams become the strong ones available for the people to see.

Think about this..
And know why it was possible for people from other places to easily CONTEST in the first place,, AND EVEN GO AHEAD TO WIN..

You're really not being liberal or wise or “accommodating” actually.
You guys don't just have the real bulls within yourselves, and thus, rams are making themselves available to do the work of bulls, pending the time the bulls start to show up.
