Don't they use closing price? N49 was intra day.

The rule only says the highest price at which the shares were traded over the 6 months prior to the AGM. It does not distinguish between intra-day or closing price.

You are adding lots of value here. Best to ignore such low opinion from the ITK's. Peter Lynch with his simple approaches beat many who claim to know so much with his record of 5 baggers, 10 baggers etc.

Investment has both quantitative and qualitative aspects. You are definitely far above average in the quantitative approaches of FA and TA. And excellent in the qualitative approaches (which also support FA & TA decision making) with your narrations which makes this thread lively and valuable.

I would have ignored your post as well, but your misconstruction may confuse some people. My post does not express a low opinion; there is nothing inherently wrong with her methods. In fact, many successful traders I've read about use order flow to make substantial profits. My post was more of a reminder that people should consider opposing views as well as supporting ones if they want a balanced outlook.

But..., it seems this point was lost on you. As for calling me ITK, that's your cup of tea. I don't post for you or for anyone's praise. This thread serves as a sort of diary for me, which I use to revisit my posts and see how well they fared.

How did you arrive at the N49 valuation.

The only valuable thing is the company's goodwill and brand name, every other thing na korofo or shell.

The company is working for the banks and can't even meet up

The N49 is based on the SEC rule regarding the price to apply when a company applies to delist its shares. Oando got to N49 before it dropped to N40

Good morning all. I want to second Oga Emma on the fact that the conversation is wonderful. I am personally leaning a lot. We should encourage healthy debate which if properly done should not lead to insults. If one properly argued one's case they should be understood from the direction they are coming from.

What I have gathered from all sides is that:

i) From financial reports so far released by OANDO, technically, a normal path is recapitalization by the injection of more capital and not more debt.

ii) The company has added more potential sources of revenue that with time should turn the finances around, and this may start to show in still to be released financial reports. However, these additional sources of revenue were acquired with more debt that may rather compound the problems.

iii) There is scepticism, fear and distrust of the majority ownership, throwing doubt in their future actions. This is based on prior experiences of their past actions.

iv) However, some also have confidence that things will come out ok in the long run.

I personally do not find any of the arguments totally unacceptable.

How I wish we'd all adhere to the first paragraph...

But how many persons can actually survive being here without insulting people that are bigger than them in real life?

I personally would ignore anyone found insulting anyone here or that's creating public nuisance/immaturity

It depends on your strategy tiring down your money for long while hoping to get N49.when there's other stocks you can play and make better money, without taking risk.

Yes, you are right.
It also depends on your entry price, risk tolerance, target price gain and the volume of units you command.
I bought most of my units at very low price around N5. I bought a lot of units so N49 is more than enough for me, even if I should wait for another 6 months.
I rather stay with Oando and receive even N40 or N35 per share than make some silly moves and then lose out when it eventually starts to rally to N50 and above.
A lot more will be clearer after the H1 2024 results

Hmmm! Over ₦20m wiped out of my Oando paper profit in 3 days. If I am to lose sleep over not selling, what should those who bought at ₦49 do.
But to be candid when I was gambling Oando at ₦5 if not for greed, ₦44 no do lol.

Morgan Capital Monday stock recommendation of Oando @ target price of ₦75 partly influenced my decision not to sell anyways.
Hope to see a reversal today ooo, especially for those who bought during the rally.

You will realize that the previous to delist was far better than recapitalization of a business with a negative working capital that deteriorated over the last 6 years and above.

And a negative shareholders fund that deteriorated even after selling assets to pay debts yet debt still increased.

No big deal in having a negative working capital once in a while, but when it becomes a normal occurrence over the years and getting worse, there is need for caution

A business with a negative working capital and negative shareholders fund is technically bankrupt.
