Obi isn't wrong, if you are smart enough you would understand he was talking about basic salary and not extraordinary feat you achieve to make you earn even more in your field of specialty.

The comparison of for same government employees in different departments for example one in the legislative arm of government and the other in the educational department of same government. One does nothing extraordinary as u assert to earn that bogus basic pay and allowance and you now require the other to do something extraordinary to earn up to what the others basic pay is what a wrong mentality of comparison. Nigerians like you are the biggest problem of this country, the level of critical thinking skills in Nigeria is abysmal.

Do lecturers in the US have to patent to earn a basic six figures annually? Nope, bring out a patent it goes viral and you become a multi millionaire in dollars but the basic living wage of six figures annual salary is guaranteed as long as you do the bare minimum assigned to you as a professor or a researcher in in the industry.

The comparison is for basic living wage of both profession and not what you are talking about.

Since you want to shift the discussion to education, let's go back to the topic of this thread, that Obi raised- disparity in lecturers salary as against politicians.

He was governor of Anambra and by implication the visitor to the Anambra State University. Please tell me if he increased the wages of the lecturers there to a reasonable standard during his time as governor. Or is it now he is out of power he realizes lecturers salaries are peanuts?

The problem I have with Obi is that he talks like someone that isn't part of the system. For God's sake this guy was a governor for 8 good years. The Anambra house of assembly where he could have made changes from, did he reduce the millions they were earning per month while ANSU lecturers were being paid #150k?
