Found the gigantic snake in my backyard trying to crawl it way inside the nearby bush, so sluggish with it movement and justice was made to it in no time. This kind of snake shouldn't just bite you because it can be very lethal as we have alot of children in the environment.

It's a ball python, the smallest of the python species. The largest is the reticulated pythons growing to up to 25 feet! That's about the height of four men stacked on top of each other. We have the carpet and Burmese python as well. Burmese pythons are usually larger than carpet pythons.

This is a python. It doesn’t bite, though! Probably just after birds if you keep chickens

Bites.
Bites so hard.
It has rows of backward facing sharp teeth intended to hold and pull prey into its mouth.
There's simply no venom glands in constrictors, luckily for us.
That would be overkill.

That's a ball python...

It doesn't bite though and are very docile.

Came across a region in ghana where it is worshipped and isn't killed. These people are known as the krobos.

Infact, came across two big ones on my farm... Had to call some of the local people to come take it away.

It's very common around that place.

It's called Nana tugbe!

Lol! That particular species doesn't bite.
Try reticulated python, Burmese python, Tiger python, African rock python.
They will inflict very serious bites, sometimes requiring stitches.

The python is a ball python, Africa's smallest python species.
It's the most popular snake in the international pet trade and comes in a wide diversity of subspecies and colours.
In the pet trade, breeders have through genetic engineering and cross breeding created 7,500 different morphs based on genetic material from the wild caught subspecies.
Ball pythons are completely harmless to humans unlike the huge and powerful reticulated python, Burmese python, Tiger python, African rock python, Carpet python, Amethystine python.

Well, dear Nairaland Moderators, certain people are allergic to the sight of snakes. The sight can make people's skin crawl.

We need to pay attention please.

I am still at a loss why snake threads are relevant here.

It's big, not gigantic. By the way, pythons are non-venomous snakes, so they're quite easy to kill...
