@Pa Emma and Sir Agba, what are your final individual or personal opinions on the current rights issues by Nigerian banks? I personally believe that the rights issue is forceful, ill-timed, and poses a potential grave danger for banking stocks. Some of the anticipated concerns and dangers include: - Dilution effects - Over-concentration of banking stocks in the hands of elites - Liquidity risk - Low patronage of the NGX by foreign portfolio investors. I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter. |

Mankind2024: I am not buying. I expect the price of banking stocks to crash by first quarter of 2025. I will then buy on the floor. Banks will still do well and are currently cheap but can be cheaper. My opinion though 12 Likes 1 Share |

Sunrisepebble: That information is not correct. An insider told me they will overcome their forex loss challenge in short term. Plus they are currently expanding their Shagamu factory. I strongly believe they will survive the forex loss tide as DS, MTN and PZ all will. |

Sunrisepebble: A company wherein their parent company wants to use the foreign exchange issue to bring in funds at a cheaper rate to increase their holdings in Nestle Nigeria PLC. Any wise parent company who sees the future will use this opportunity to bring in funds at a favourable rate that will increase their local currency value and subsequently their holdings locally. This is just like saying MTN or Standard Bank wants to leave Nigeria. Where dem wan go? |
