Hello everyone, I made a post on my review on the airtel 5G unlimited router. Let's just say the speed nearly drove me mad, There were times I couldn't use the router unless at night time because it was just too slow.
It's truly unlimited but the speed is a joke.
So last month I purchased starlink and it cost me about 440k on jumia with 38k monthly subscription fee and I must say, The speed is incredible!
I experience an average of 200-300mbps and even hit up to 458mbps as compared to airtels 20mbps.
I can download a 75gb file in 1 hour but I used 3 days to download a 100gb file with airtel router.

The only major disadvantage is, If you don't have constant power then you have to use your gen constantly to power it and it's not portable at all. You'd have to completely unwire it to take it to another location and the data plans are very specific to your current location.

So if I go from Lagos to Abuja, I can't use it in Abuja as I'd have to resub again for Abuja location.
If you can afford it, I highly recommend it! My videos almost never buffer even at the highest possible quality.
shocked Men dey o, when person dey manage 500mb for some days another is spending 38k for sub sad.... Levels dey this life cheesy

Is it humanly possible to use 800+ GB in a month? What are you streaming or downloading?

Anyway, to each their own. The lack of portability is a big no for me... If I want to run an internet/media/cafe company, that would be perfect for employees at location.

Most likely a location issue. I use the airtel unlimited 20 plan with an ODU and I get a seamless experience. Streaming, browsing and downloads in a breeze. I guess user experiences differ. Everyone should use what works for them. The most important consideration is that one gets value for money well spent.
What do u mean by "20 plan"?

this pastor is a big liar or are you paid to discredit airtel 5G because that is what i am using in my house and also have few people that are using it also and is very fast and wonderful
Very fast is subjective jor, has Airtel 5G ever clocked a download speed of 200 Mbps in your area before?
OP said that Starlink clocked an average speed ranging between 100-200 Mbps, you can't realistically get more than 20Mbps on all our Network service providers.

I stream all these too..
Or do you dedicate a TV screen for each of these items you wrote here?

Is it not that you are watching it-one channel at a time? when you're tired of this channel ,you then switch to the other channel then you switch to the other channel on the same TV?

If you are not single, definitely your viewing time will be in excess of 9+ hours. Imagine your stream 4K, that's almost (55GB per day at 6GB/Hr).

In 30 days, that will be 1.6TB. If you add heavy downloads to this, it might cross the 2TB limit.

What do you use 883GB to do?

I switch on my

🥒smart tv
🥒3 phones

Yet I don't use upto 90gb monthly.
May be you are not a heavy user, 200gb won't be enough for a heavy user

I have been having good experience with the Airtel unlimited plan, I get the maximum speed of 20mps and router stucked in 5G mode except occasionally when it drops and comes back within minutes.
The speed issue you have is location, I bet if you change location, your speed should improve.

How can Airtel 5G be capped at 20mbps? My normal 4G MTN exceeds that speed on a very good day.

I don't upload often, so I'd say it's kinda average.

I get like 30-50mbps usually.

Yeah that's it. In some parts the speed cuts down to 20mbps. I hope that improves when they establish their data centers in Nigeria.

40 to 50k initial cost with bundled one month subscription to the unlimited 20 plan.

Subsequently you pay 20k for the monthly subscription to the unlimited 20 plan.
