Yea location affects but you can't experience a very good download and upload speed on Airtel or any other Nigerian network for that matter, except during midnight.

Most of them do not go beyond 10-20mbps at their fastest, which could be as low as 10kbps when the traffic is much. MTN, Airtel, Glo, they're all the same,

Not so in my case and I an on 4G. Use IDM for your Downloads

Hello everyone, I made a post on my review on the airtel 5G unlimited router. Let's just say the speed nearly drove me mad, There were times I couldn't use the router unless at night time because it was just too slow.
It's truly unlimited but the speed is a joke.
So last month I purchased starlink and it cost me about 440k on jumia with 38k monthly subscription fee and I must say, The speed is incredible!
I experience an average of 200-300mbps and even hit up to 458mbps as compared to airtels 20mbps.
I can download a 75gb file in 1 hour but I used 3 days to download a 100gb file with airtel router.

The only major disadvantage is, If you don't have constant power then you have to use your gen constantly to power it and it's not portable at all. You'd have to completely unwire it to take it to another location and the data plans are very specific to your current location.

So if I go from Lagos to Abuja, I can't use it in Abuja as I'd have to resub again for Abuja location.
If you can afford it, I highly recommend it! My videos almost never buffer even at the highest possible quality.
Which Airtel unlimited, unlimited dey get data caps?

90% of all products and what nigerians consume are of low quality and mediocrity.

Anyone who have once traveled out of nigeria to other african countries, not even overseas will relate.

Most nigerians are too gullible and full of mediocrity.

The subscription is cheaper in Nigeria. I’m in East Africa and paying ₦75k monthly, and I use only around 500 GB monthly

Is it humanly possible to use 800+ GB in a month? What are you streaming or downloading?

Anyway, to each their own. The lack of portability is a big no for me... If I want to run an internet/media/cafe company, that would be perfect for employees at location.

Highest i ever got was 265mbps. Mostly hovers around 150. Not too shabby,I watch everything in 4k and download PS5 games in a couple of hours, especially CoD with its endless updates.

MTN Fiber claims 1gbps, but MTN is generally dog shit these days. We'll see.

You have to buy another sub or pay for a special subscription that allows you to use it at mutiple location.

The normal sub cost 38k.
The roaming sub cost I think 48k( This allows you to use it anywhere)

Abeg oo, I'm hearing this location thing for the first time. If I'm based in Lagos and want to use Starlink for my short stay in Abuja, do I need to carry only my router abi I go uninstall dish join?

How can Airtel 5G be capped at 20mbps? My normal 4G MTN exceeds that speed on a very good day.
The plan is speed based. If you want higher speed you pay more.

Boss, go for the Series X or S, I have the Xbox One S, although because I have Ultimate I can stream those games that cannot be installed on the One S. It's Expensive but worth it.

I don't even bother about checking the temporality of my usage in relation to browsing or Download speed because I almost always ha e very decent speed. So I am not bothered about that time of the day it is. Most often than not, I am downloading while the kids are also streaming media on the TV all without any buffering whatsoever.

Kai na wa o. 310gb for just one game. I guess starlink is better for hame enthusiasts. For those who are regular Internet users, average video streamers and average Downloaders, then airtel is more than adequate for their use case.

Yeah, I'm aware, but it's not very competitive. Their 60mbps plan comes at 50k monthly sub or so. If I had such amount to spend, I was better off getting a Starlink that costs 38k monthly with a much higher speed.

in the last decades Naira lost value significantly to about 1000%. So it seems like everything is cheaper in Nigeria from foreigners. But people in Nigeria sees it very costly. Imagine when dollars were 180 to now that it's 1600.

Even fuel at 1000. To other countries it looks like it's Cheaper here in Nigeria. when naira moved from 750 to 1600

You have to uninstall everything, It's like installing DSTV.
You can't use the decoder without the dish.
