How can the EFCC not go after the two ex governors? The nerve to tell Tinubu to settle the case is disrespectful,... and should force Tinubu to order an investigation. Anything Nigerian FG owns abroad is open to confiscation. Maybe they will decide to take the most valuable land in Ogun.

The problem in Ogun has been there since the time of Obasanjo/Yaradua it lingered till Johnathan and then to Buhari.

I look at this from 2 perspectives

1. Chinese are very shroud and wicked. When they gave Nigeria loans and the Yuan currency swap I knew that they will try to get a way to get back at Nigeria once the loan defaults

2. The reckless behaviours of state Governors when going into bilateral agreement and when obtaining loan from international bodies.

To be candid Ogun state government brought Nigeria into this mess especially Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun

shortgun:
What happened in ogun state is exactly how Tinubu is currently being reckless with our nation's common wealth.
The future of Nigeria is at stake!

This is one of the reasons we advocate to have only rational people with common sense occupy political offices but they will call us names and claim to be sophisticated only to place inept individuals in positions of power.

You see why it is difficult to deal with nigerians when it comes to money and business. His words contradicts amount's and there is no record from his account on why the deal was terminated.
FreeStuffsNG:
He emphasised that, as of his handover in 2011, around 56 companies were at various stages of operation, construction, or interest in the Free Trade Zone. These efforts have led to significant development in the previously rural Igbesa area.
But his successor government stated that only a fence was built on the site by the Chinese firm.

This his statement absolutely contradicts everything the Amosun-led Exco stated and as a matter of fact, Senator Amosun just called the Chinese firm impostors! So who is lying?

EFCC and DSS must quiz everyone involved including the firm and anyone who is established to have broken the law must be prosecuted like FG did in the P&ID criminal case. For now, everyone's assumed innocent.

May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!

Amosun is a greedy man. He won't touch anything that doesn't bring money into his pocket. How his tricks got the ogun people and they voted him twice remains a mystery. Even the few road construction he did, were substandard. Anyone in doubt should go to sango-ojuoore and inside ota axis. Those roads have been washed off by erosion. In a sane society, he'd be behind bars today. He didn't even complete the constriction work before he left.

This same man willfully chased dangote to lagos to build his refineries cos of his personal interest. That huge investment would have been cited in ogun today. That's a huge loss to the state but he doesn't care. Dr tejuosho ought to have returned to senate but he stopped him out of greed, after serving as a 2-term governor in the state.

In as much as I don't like this, but come to think of it, those assets abroad has never improved the lives of most of Nigerians, no benefits at all..So if they want to seize let them go ahead...

You are very correct. The effrontery of Amosun to tell FG to seek a diplomatic resolution when it was through his recklessness that all this mess happened is madness!!

He should be arrested and probed. All his assets that he can't legitimately account for should be seized and used to pay the debt.

Also, Ogun’s FAAC revenue should be deducted installmentally and be used to pay the outstanding debts.

Should be lesson to all state governors to tidy up their finances.

Also, at the end of every tenure of each governor, their state finances should be audited by both EFCC and an independent auditing firm, to check for any infractions.

Dear intelligent people on this forum, a question, how is it that a governor can sign a bilateral agreement with another country without the assent of a federal representative? Is it possible?

If it is not impossible, who then represented the President at the time of signing the bilateral agreement?

You see one problem we have here in Nigeria is the in ability of a current adminstration to continue a project that was initiated by a past administration because they want to make corrupt money out of it, or they are on a sour relations with their former. According to Gbenga Daniel, different firms have been working there, probably, even after the expiration of his tenure. Now the administration that assumed the oath of office, probably didn't like those Chinese firm, or wanted to enter into another deal with a different firm so that they would benefit, haven seen that , entering a fresh deal could favour them handsomely. Then on trumped up allegations they terminated the contract of the former firm thinking it's Nigeria where the powers that be always do whatever( intimidate any person, make money through corrupt means....) they like and get away with it, without taking into consideration they were dealing with a foreign firm from a big country far more powerful and wealthy than us uncountable times....Now e don sub...This matter go go against us na for government to follow peaceful diplomatic process to settle it, seal up the mouth of that bayo Onanuga who keeps oozing shit ,else these Chinese will go after Naija assets abroad.....Well even if them go after, who the assets hep for Nigeria except those criminal ones ? E no hep u or me, so make them cease am if them no agree

My friend was in total disagreement when I mentioned the Akute-Ijoko with other roads and
bridges embarked on by Amosun won't be completed, and these projects were too massive for a state government to initiate at the same time. His greed is making living less meaningful to residence and those who ply the roads

https://punchng.com/seek-diplomatic-resolution-in-ogun-ftz-dispute-gbenga-daniel-urges-tinubu The statement read, “The judgments in all the courts are very clear on this matter. It is important to note that this is a sensitive issue involving our collective national assets and Commonwealth, which every patriotic Nigerian should be concerned about.
“As a patriotic elder statesman who had the privilege of serving Ogun State as Governor, where he initiated several developmental projects, including the Ogun-Guangdong Free Trade Zone, and as a serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel is committed to assisting Nigeria, through the President and Commander-in-Chief, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in finding a diplomatic solution to the issue at hand. He will provide the Federal Government with all available records that could assist in pursuing its case at arbitration and before the courts
Patriotic my foot angry angry angry This is a confirmation of the desecration of public offices by polithefcians in Nigeria.... Everything about your stay and stint as a governor should have been reposed in the states official library and you can only give evidence or provide clarifications under oath after your tenure... This is just like what's happening in Lagos State and others undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided
