All Nigerian politicians are the same. They can't do people any favour if there's nothing they will benefit from it. The new minimum wage is no longer in the lips of our dear governor. Remember, he said that he will key in IMMEDIATELY the federal government concludes with the negotiations. Now what's happening? I guess the FG is still discussing about the new minimum wage with labour unions. Right? Hmmmm! No politician from Nigeria is a saint. All are selfish and self centered. |

emekatex:Gov. Fubara and Wike!d are more of twin brothers. If not for the numerous battle he faced, he would have act worse than Wike!d. The 100k he gave to us as December bonus was to cover up for the blunda he made at that Abuja 8 point peace pack. I'm afraid he will not do us much good. |

TheWatchDog: Don't judge easily,the governor does not need to come out and announce that he is paying min wage this month. Just know that Rivers State is paying min wage this month.Got the info from a reliable source at ministry of finance that the calculation is already done.So let's wait and see before you conclude 6 Likes |

Iykeluv: I also believe that it will be paid this month. During the May Day speech of the governor. He said he would implement as soon as d MW is sign into law and template is out. I think he will keep to his words because that is where integrity starts. |

The states are Plateau, Kebbi, Sokoto, Nasarawa, Bayelsa, Delta, Osun, Ekiti, Zamfara, Benue, Enugu, Taraba, Gombe, Kogi, Enugu, Adamawa, Niger, Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi, Oyo, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Katsina, Kaduna, Cross River and Yobe. However, seven other states — Kano, Kwara, Ogun, Borno, Jigawa, Ondo, and Abia — have set up implementation committees. Only Lagos and Edo claimed to have started paying the minimum wage. Recall that President Bola Tinubu signed the new minimum wage into law on July 29, 2024, after meeting with leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria. |

Please my honorable colleagues, how much supposed to be our salary range if given 20 percent instead of the whole 133.333 percent based on consequential adjustment as it was in the previous minimum wage of 30k. Those that are good in mathematics should help us calculate it, please. |

For those that were receiving x as take home salary.it was like this last time.(0.2 ×) +x=minimum wage take home salary. for example.for those receiving 61000... 20/100=0.2...then 0.2 times 61000=12200;... therefore, 61000+12200= 73200 NOTE: it was 18k minimum wage before it was pushed to 30k minimum wage. The difference between 18k n 30k is just 12k which represents the amount added They shouldn't use this format of computation.its poor and it ll push several civil servants into poverty 1 Like |

If they do, about 24k to 25k ll be added for those receiving 124k If you talk of 40% and above I would believe Meanwhile . This is not the conventional way of computing minimum wage. previous administration used that system for unknown reason |
