izzou: i met with a trader some months back and the guy said the issue is that NNPC buys product on credit. whenever the gbese starts to hook and cargoes are withheld - the information trickles down to the marketers and hoarding begins. there was scatterd scarcity last week, but i saw the peddlers in their numbers, buying up fuel as if it would be gone the next day. people with four or five 60 litre jerry cans. me sef i fear |

GloriousGbola: More numbers are coming out and it turns out we've paid as high as 500B (August 2022) in a month prior to 2023. It appears The Cable cherrypicked the perfect duration for shock value. It worked. 800B ($0.5B) is wild though. FY 2022 subsidy was $10B. At the rate we're going, we might end up paying the same or more subsidy in $ terms without the relatively stable supply during Buhari's administration. It'd be something to pay more subsidy than GEJ and have worse scarcity than Buhari. -Lord 9 Likes 1 Share |

OasisX: Young japarians should take advantage of this. I literally just returned in the last hour from holidaying at my cousins house on the South Coast who took this Japa route in 2012 after Nigerian army turned him down for officer corps. He is an MSc holder and applied directly from Naija. Today he is a soldier in logistics division, married to a British doctor, two kids, 5 bedroom house with house in Naija for his mum and he has built two 2 bedroom flats in the compound for his brothers. Soft life for him. Most days he will close work at 12pm or 3pm and use the evening to do truck driving or crane work earning extra thousand pounds plus per month. He used that extra work to pay for his brothers PHD over here. As part of logisitics corp, you get all those certificates for truck driving, forklift and crane and they use it to earn extra money at Southampton port. Enough of his battalion are Naija, Ghana and Gambian boys and they hustle well daily, I meet most of them. One Ghana boy has used this to buy plenty properties in Ghana as well as owning a car lot. Took a souvenir of bullet he kept on his outside fridge where he keeps Naija foodstuff on this last trip. Also attached are the army quarters where his colleagues are living well. Don't be like Okpa, shouting about common $2k Putin is offering Nigerians to go and die in Ukraine, if you fancy soldier life, Japa well 16 Likes 3 Shares

This thing na big rubbish. Why do we have to queue up for fuel every single week... Why.. Just why. It's even so heartbreaking that when it's now your turn to get Fuel.... You'll hear that they've closed for the day... After spending close to 6hrs in the filling station. Wetin be this Jesus Christ 4 Likes |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 5:05pm On Aug 19 |
if you haven't done so, you need to bite the bullet and get one of those dual carburators for your generator lpg costs more than petrol, unfortunately, but it is available without queuing |

It's really shameful. You see men in their 70s still leaving their homes as early as 5am just to queue for fuel. 8 Likes |

GloriousGbola: He is a private for over 11 years now. He doesn't send promotion because it will impede his evening hustle. None of the African boys go for promotion because promotion will mean they work long hours and can't do extra curricular hustle. Dem dey hustle well for evening. Most of them are married to British or bring their wives over to come and join the hustle. All are chopping well. I met one Aba boy on this trip who brought his Doctor wife to do PLAB in UK. She is now working as a Doctor here and took it further to start writing USA Doctor exams. The guy is 11 years into service (British Army contracts are for 12 years) and he was saying that if his wife pass the USA exams, he will probably Japa with her to USA next year when his contract ends than renew with British Army. He Sabi all those truck driving, forklift and crane operator work as part of his work with British army so he will chop in Yankee too, while his wife works as Doctor there. My cousin just started a rotation this year where he is in the UK 6 months and abroad 6 months. They hate going abroad cos it deprives them of chance to hustle evening work however they still get paid £30-£50 per day ontop of their salary when they are abroad. But they still enjoy the holiday sha. Just this year my cousin done reach 8 countries including Germany, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Albania, USA and Falklands. Na the downside of the job be that but most times when they are abroad, it's to unload ships. They will be abroad for 2 weeks, use 3 days to unload the ship and use the remaining 11 days to drink to stupor. . There is one Ghana boy in their company who is always crying off going abroad with one injury or another so he can stay in UK and hustle. That guy is the main hustler amongst them, he done use him hustle set up car lot and plenty rental properties for Ghana. 5 Likes |

Tochex101:No matter how tough you are I believe you eventually run out of toughness. That's why when push came to shove after talking that talk he just couldn't back it up. I expected someone ready to die out there but the way he surrendered the back and quickly tapped showed he didn't want it that badly To be fair to him when you combine all that kick boxing with MMA fights your body just gets tired of being punched. He's made enough money to where he should strongly consider retiring cos it only goes downhill from here. 1 Like |
