After September, the next excuse would be 'let us refine the crude oil we buy in Naira first in October'..

In October, it would be 'crude oil takes time to refine esp Petrol' we would start roll out in November'

In November it would be 'the year has almost ended.. let's use it as new year gift to Nigerians, till Jan 1st'

🤔this is Naija..

Probably why independent marketers are miserly importing fuel leading to the current scarcity.
They probably waiting for the local roll out from dangote refinery.

I don't give a hoot about dangote's refinery. I just want the nation's refineries to be up and running to start producing fuel for our local consumption with the intent to bring down the price of the product.

Should this government fails to at least make 2 of the refineries to commence production within early next year, it should considered itself as having FAILED! and unfit to secure another term.

It better be sold at market price, otherwise, what happened to kaduna refinery will happen to dangote refinery.
Re: Tinubu Panel, Dangote Refinery Agree On Sept Petrol Rollout by gabbasin(m): 1:49pm On Aug 20
The only issue delaying roll out of pms from Dangote Refinery is the subsidy issue. Rolling out of diesel and aviation fuel have no issue but petrol pricing is critical in Nigeria, And I believe with FG sorting this out with Dangote we will finally be having locally refined petrol after decades of importation. As imported petrol is being subsidized, Dangote can't produce for Nigerian market at the current pump price without government subsidizing. It's either FG completely deregulate the downstream sector with attendant high pump price and another round of hyper inflation or continuing subsidy regime and lose revenue.

Honestly, the problem of government over the years, is inability to get things done properly before rushing to the media. Why always shifting. I voted for Sowore even thou, I knew he will not win, just because he offered a convincing approach to subsidy removal. The big three candidates were putting their hope on a private refinery without due diligence. Before you conclude, you must have a first hand information about what you intend to do. Sowore said he will not remove the subsidy immediately but nnpc will be made to handle all importation and he will put energy so hard to get the state own refineries function optimally before removal. Tinubu should have re organize nnpc. We don't need middlemen to import for the country. Increase nnpc capacity if they don't have to be fully in charge of importation.

I know someone at the Dangote refinery, he said the refinery will start working in 2027
The utopian someone lied to you and in your usual habit, you took and swallowed it. Those of you supporting this corrupt regime pretend to love this country whereas, you're her worst enemies. Your reactions have shown on NL. That's what they said that his diesel refining arm won't commence operation in 3 years. He proved them wrong and they came up with sabotage, first setting his refinery ablaze and secondly, saying his diesel was substandard. The enemies of the masses are the government, just because of their selfish interest

I smelt rats when they asked dangote to be buying crude locally after he had said his petrol will flood market in August. I knew it was a move to frustrate him and prevent him from carrying out his plan. Had dangote remained adamant and pursued his plan to purchase crude from abroad, the same people would have accused him of unpatriotism.

Recently, they said crude supply to dangote was delayed but they gave no reason. How would dangote flood the market again with the non availability of crude? If I were him, I'd jettison that arrangement becasue with these same saboteur in place, September may not be sure for him.

Dangote refinery will roll out petrol by September and sell above a thousand naira with the excuse it's imported crude. If people complain ,which is expected, the government will beg us to be patient and assure us that by October the price will go down substantially.

But by October when the refinery starts to refine local crude , the price will only reduce to a thousand naira or a fraction thereof with Ignorant Nigerians accepting and celebrating it without
complaining because of the hardship they have gone though in the previous month of September when it was sold over 1,k.

I believe the issue of pricing is what has been delaying the company from rolling out petrol The government is afraid of what will happen if Dangote sells above 1k. It will results in serious inflation. Dangote is a ruthless business man who only cares about profit.

"Dangote, Dangote, Dangote still dey find momi" oya

I just hope what I imagined above doesn't materializes,if not it won't be easy.

Dangote is not a wise business man, i said it before, nairaland morons including one that said he is working in international organisations, started abusing me, how can someone be building a refinery in a world that is in energy transition, most mobility would soon transition to electric, just as most homes are transitioning to solar, i pity that man . I wonder how he is sleeping at night

So the order to give Dangote crude should be carried out instantly? What happened to the existing commitments with the same crude, they should be cancelled right away? and what about the interest of the IOC's producing the crude, they should be damned, and not discussed.

Good that the presidency stepped in to resolve the issue. Now the onus is on the refinery to live up to the hype, in quality, productivity, economic benefits, sustainance, reliance and affordability.
