Hello @Eckimalu
Wishing you a speedy PPR approval !
I called Qlife Hospital Lagos to inquire about the status of my medical report and I was informed that it was submitted to IRCC on August 13th. Did you received an update too on when your medical report was submitted to IRCC?
Thanks a lot !

Eckimalu:
They made the request on 12th August, am hoping for decision this week or next

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by MarksmanD: 6:01pm On Aug 19
Boss, you're just giving yourself anxiety over something that is beyond your control. The problem is from IRCC, they have a quota distribution problem. Especially if your school is in Ontario. Just be prayerful that everything turns out well for you. Or you can defer to January if your school has a slot for the program.

Good day all….i just entered Canada and the study permit issued to me has a validity of just 2 months (expiring in November 2024) but my school is actually resuming in September 2024…my study program has a duration of 1 year….why is this and how do I go about it…PLEASE TREAT AS URGENT!!!
Check the validity of your passport, they can't issue TRV and study permit beyond the validity of your passport..
Or either your LOA was not updated and they issued TRV based on the information stated..

You need to contact your school, register for courses, use the verification of enrollment to do extension of study permit before 30 days of expiry of your study permit.

Hello everyone, please does anyone know about this school "New Brunswick Community College NBCC" and what are the chances of getting admin and visa. Also the chances of getting work permit.

I'd also appreciate any information on cities and schools with less expensive tuition fees.

I only paid acceptance deposit of $250 CAD.

Note: I was granted a fully funded scholarship of about 30kCAD, as stated in the letter from the university, which was part of IRCC requirement for POF…although, I didn’t submit my personal bank statement….because according to IRPA a letter from the University should do.

Not true. I thought this was so before I tried it earlier this year. I have a UBA dom account and I was able to send USD directly from my Payoneer account to my UBA dom account without even using Swift code and beneficiary account number UBA gives. Only my UBA Dom account number was used for it. Also you can send money directly from Revolut to a Dom account. I have received money from Revolut like 4-5 times but you need to use Swift code and beneficiary account number the bank gives. The company I work for pay us using Deel and I tried direct transfer from Deel to my Dom account last week. It notified me that the transfer would take 5 working days, I'm still waiting for it to hit my Dom account. There many digital banks that can send money to your Dom account and you'll receive it as USD.

Hi bro, can you please tell me how you were able to setup Revolut account...its asking me for country of residence and nigeria isn't on the list

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by MarksmanD: 8:12pm On Aug 20
You can't use Revolut in Nigeria. You need a valid UK visa or residency permit to setup an account. I think you can open a Wise but you can't send money directly to a Nigerian account. A trick I used is to setup a Wise account and a Payoneer account. Payoneer receiving account is a little bit complicated to setup. You send money from Wise to Payoneer to your Dom account.

Hello Everyone,

I need your urgent help on how best to go about the following additional documents requested by IRCC.

Let me quickly give you a brief background and what documents I initially submitted with my visa application around 28th Jun 2024.

Since last weekend up till yesterday, I have sent about 3 webforms to IRCC, inquiring about an update regarding my application and arguing about the fact that my University program starts on the 3rd of Sept 2024.

So early this morning, I got an email from IRCC, directing me to my application portal and requesting me to send the following additional documents with some very short deadline:

A) An updated proof of funds (i.e. a bank statement specifically from my First Bank account for the period of *2023-12-01* to *2024-08-15* and must be submitted through mybankStatement)

B) Include an explanation/receipts for any large bank deposits received

C) Corresponding pay slips for that period

D) Tuition payment receipt(s) and

E) A current student statement of account from your designated learning institution.

This must be received at this office by 2024/08/26.

Meanwhile, when I submitted my visa application in June, I submitted my bank account statement which included a lump sum received for parcel of inherited landed property I sold. In my SOP, I explained this in detail and attached the land survey, deed of conveyance from the family trustees, the sales agreement proving the source of the lump sum and other documentary evidence of my investment with some other financial institutions.

I equally submitted my four month pay slips from my new place of work which I joined four months ago and my pension fund statement of about 12m.

I also included valid documents of my other landed properties including the one I built and live in. Please, note that I planned to sell another two undeveloped plots but I am yet to see a serious buyer.

I also submitted an account statement issued by my University that I have paid the tuition deposit of 1,500CAD out of 10,000CAD tution for first term.

However, shortly after submission I pulled out the lump sum which is about 40m and I also pulled out about 3m from my second bank account and invested it in a short term fix deposit with a microfinance bank. I made this decision because I intended to defer my varsity admission in order to buy time and raise more money to be able to pay for remainder of both first and second term and the one year living expenses, hoping I could get the visa with a tution deposit.

Now, that IRCC is requesting for an updated account statement within a week, I am concerned about the short deadline and dont know if I can pay the tuition balance and get receipt from the university within a week deadline. Also, I am not sure if anyone here has ever used mybankStatement at First bank.

Please, I need your candid advice and guidance on how to handle this predicament within this very short deadline.

You have a sum of 43 million to pay 20million for tuition fees both first and second term, 23million is enough for living expenses, why do you still think of deferring your admission?

IRCC might have noticed that you moved the money away from your account unfortunately that's a bad sign?
When you thought of deferring, you would have withdraw your application, now I think is too late to withdraw because it might seem you are running away from sending the requested document.

I suggest that you, print the microfinance account statement if it is in your name, the previous account statement you submitted and a written note of explanation why you move the money with evidence, don't mention deferring of your admission unless you still consider the option best for you at the moment. You can state that you thought of deferring due to delay in getting a response for visa and chose to reinvest your money.
All best.

1,500CAD out of 10,000CAD is not good enough to show that you are committed to the study, you should atleast pay complete or half, unless the fees are non refundable by the school which you should state in your letter of explanation.

Alternatively, they might have requested for these documents because the last one you sent has poor resolutions or was blurred.

Thanks @Duchess102.

I actually thought they are requesting these documents because the last one I send with my application is truly blurry due to the smallness of the font size of Firstbank's statement.
Pls do know if Firstbank is issuing mybankStatement to their customers?

Anyways, that is bygone now. As you rightly mentioned I hope to liquidate the investment and ask the money be paid back into my firstbank account by the microfinance bank. I will also ask the microfinance institution to issue to me documents proving the investment and what accrued interest within the period. I hope this will suffice to convince the VO?

Regarding the fact that I ought to have paid fully for the first term, I am very concerned claiming the school not refunding paid fund after visa denial because I do not have any evidence to back such claims. My main reason which I hope to reiterate in the LOE I will be sending in my response is that the University only requires tuition deposit and that first term tuition balance can be paid till 17th Sept without late payment penalty. And this can be validated.

Also I wish to state that I did not want to just keep the money idle in my account while waiting for the visa approval, hence I decided to put it in the microfinance investment for a short term profit. Do you also think this arguement is sufficient to convince the VO?

I plan to inform the investment bank today about liquidating my investment, and I know it may take like 2 days before the repayment of my invested fund hit my bank account. I am concerned if I then attend to pay the balance tuition to my university by Friday, I may not be able to receive a tution balance payment receipt/current student statement which IRCC is requesting I submit before August 26th deadline.

Please, what is your advice about this?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by MarksmanD: 7:05am On Aug 21
Write to IRCC asking for more time to submit the updated documents and genuinely state why it'll take time to get the documents ready. Also what you did isn't right. Until you have gotten your study permit in Canada, that's when you can touch your POF. If you're scared of devaluation, just convert your money to USD or GBP and put it in a Dom account. I pray you come out of this with good news. And I hope others too can learn from you.

I will write IRCC as advised and ask for more time. But do you think I can ask for more time beyond University resumption date which is Sept 3rd which is a week after the IRCC deadline (Aug 26th)?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Duchess102: 7:55am On Aug 21
You can go to first bank and request for mybankstatement, explain to the customer care that you want it in your email, you can try to do that also using your banking app.
I don't know if the will reply to your webform about extending of deadline since there is nothing difficult in what the asked for? Unless you are admitted to hospital, kidnapped etc. But you can try to request that today meanwhile you need to put effort and get the documents have the them ready incase you received no or negative reply about extending of date.
If you are sure of getting evidence of investment by micro finance no need to liquidate your investment since a shorterm investment. Just print both account statement and add evidence of investment, statement of explanation for removal of POF and why you didn't pay your fees complete.
For the fee, you can state that you are not sure of their refund policy, so the school allows students to deposit a certain amount to secure their seat and pay complete after their visa has been issued.
Good luck 🤞#i am also an applicant I may not have suggested the best#
